iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 2: Updated Features
Apple Intelligence
Apple’s iOS 18.2 Developer Beta 1 features are powered by Apple Intelligence. It has a new image creation tool in the Notes app. Users can now select a text in the Notes app and use the Create Image option from the copy/paste popup menu which appears above. This option uses Image Playground to generate an image based on that context.
iOS 18.2 beta 1 added ChatGPT integration with Siri, including the ability to log in to your ChatGPT account in Settings to access ChatGPT Plus features. With the release of iOS 18.2 beta 2, users can now subscribe to ChatGPT Plus directly in the Settings app.
The ChatGPT page in the Settings app also now shows details on your usage of ChatGPT and how close you are to reaching your limits.
Find My upgrade
Apple has added a key new feature to Find My with iOS 18.2 beta 2. Users can now share the location of a lost item so someone else can help track it down.
One can share the location by generating a link and sending it to the other person. The link can be opened on the web, so the other person can use it irrespective of having or not an Apple device.
Mail app badges
In the Settings app, there is a new option to display notification badges only for unread messages in the “Primary” category.
This update is linked to the new Mail app design in iOS 18.2, which can sort your emails into Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions.
Settings app icons
With iOS 18.2 beta 2, icons in the Settings app now fully match the tint of your Home Screen with a darker design and background.

Camera control
For iPhone 16 users, there are two key upgrades to the Camera Control in iOS 18.2 beta 2. Firstly, Apple has added the ability to control the focus and exposure lock with the Camera Control. This is applicable to the iPhone 16 series.
This setting is disabled by default, but can be turned on in the Settings app under the “Camera Control” menu. A slight tap on the Camera Control will lock the exposure and focus until you fully press down to take a picture or release your finger.
Secondly, there’s a new option to manage the double click speed of the Camera Control. This can be done in Settings > Accessibility > Camera Control. Users can choose from Default, Slow, and Slower.
iPhone mirroring
iOS 18.2 beta 2 supports usage of iPhone Mirroring feature while using your iPhone as a hotspot for your Mac. In iOS 18.2 Beta 2 and macOS 15.2 Beta 2, users can now share mobile hotspot with their Mac while using iPhone Mirroring, which was not possible to do simultaneously earlier.
