Samsung has revealed a special version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 that will take center stage at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, kicking off in February 2026.
As a long-time worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partner, Samsung will hand out the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition to around 3,800 athletes competing at the games. It joins a growing list of limited-edition flip phones, following Motorola’s FIFA World Cup Razr revealed earlier this year.
A Familiar Phone With a Special Look
While the hardware stays the same as the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7 available to the public, this edition is all about design. The phone features a signature blue finish on the lower glass panel, along with Olympic and Milano Cortina branding.
There’s also a gold-colored frame, for reasons that don’t need much explanation, and a custom wallpaper inspired by the marks left by skate blades on ice. It’s a great-looking design, and one many fans will probably wish they could download for themselves.
Built for the Podium Moments
Samsung says the phone will once again play a role in podium celebrations. In past Olympic Games, athletes have used Samsung phones to snap selfies and share moments right after receiving their medals.
That tradition looks set to continue in 2026, with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition designed to be front and center during those memorable wins.
More Than Just a Souvenir
This isn’t just a fancy keepsake. The phones given to athletes will come preloaded with useful apps to help them during the games. One of these is the Galaxy Athlete Card app, which lets athletes tap phones to share details and collect cards from people they meet in the Olympic Village. It’s a bit like real-life Pokémon, but for Olympic stars.
Free Data, Free Drinks, and Smart Updates
Each phone includes a 100GB SIM to help athletes avoid roaming charges. On top of that, the device can unlock free drinks from Coca-Cola vending machines around the venues, which sounds like a win on its own.
The phone also comes in a custom box with a matching case. Samsung hopes athletes will rely on Now Brief, one of its key AI features, to stay on top of daily schedules, weather updates, and event reminders.
Don’t Expect to Buy One Easily
Sadly, this special edition isn’t expected to go on sale to the public. Still, history suggests a few units may eventually pop up online once the games are over.
So while most of us won’t be walking into a store to buy the Galaxy Z Flip 7 Olympic Edition, it might be worth keeping an eye on resale sites. You never know what could show up.
