iPhone 18 Pro Top 12 Features and Upgrades You Need to Know

The iPhone 18 Pro has already been the subject of rumours and speculation for several months prior to its anticipated release, and if all or half of those rumours are correct, it has the potential to be one of the largest upgrades in years.

The following is an overview of the 12 most discussed features of this upcoming device.

12 Key iPhone 18 Pro Features and Upgrades

  1. New Red Colour Option
Apple may introduce a bold red finish for the Pro models, something we have not seen in the premium lineup in a while.
  2. Smaller Dynamic Island
Part of the iPhone 18 Pro Face ID system could move under the display, making the Dynamic Island small and freeing up more screen space.
  3. Same Display Sizes
Expected to stick with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, similar to the previous Pro lineup.
  4. More Efficient LTPO+ Displays
Better power efficiency could directly translate into longer battery life without increasing size.
  5. Variable Aperture Camera
The 48MP main camera may allow manual control over light intake, giving more depth and DSLR-like control in certain shots.
  6. A20 Pro Chip (2nm)
A major jump in performance and efficiency, thanks to a shift to TSMC’s 2nm architecture. Expect faster speeds and better battery management.
  7. C2 Modem Upgrade
Improved 5G and LTE speeds, with better power efficiency compared to previous generations.
  8. Next-Gen N2 Connectivity Chip
Likely to improve Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirDrop performance, though exact upgrades are still unclear.
  9. Simplified Camera Control Button
Apple may tweak the camera button design by removing swipe gestures for a more straightforward experience.
  10. Updated Rear Design
Changes to the Ceramic Shield and back panel could bring a more refined, possibly frosted glass look, especially around MagSafe.
  11. Satellite-Based Web Access
Beyond emergency use, Apple could expand satellite connectivity to basic web browsing, which would be a big deal in low-network areas.
  12. Slightly Thicker Pro Max
The iPhone 18 Pro Max variant may get a thicker body, likely to fit in a bigger battery for longer usage.

It appears that Apple’s new front-end and bottom-end upgrades focus on improved performance in all three key areas, i.e. better battery lives, improved camera controls and new gaming capabilities.

Apple is expected to introduce the new line-up in the fall, possibly with other models, potentially including a folding iPhone.
