Now, you can make and change images using ChatGPT’s AI right inside WhatsApp, without needing the ChatGPT app.
ChatGPT Can Now Create and Edit Images in WhatsApp
WhatsApp, which MetaAI owns, caused some fuss recently because it added a new Meta AI button to the app that users couldn’t remove.
The new button made a lot of WhatsApp users angry, with many feeling like they were being pushed to use AI.
“Why do they have to slap that stuff on everything?” said Reddit user Special-Oil-7447. “I’m in the EU and it’s just been dumped on me. I am going to uninstall WhatsApp today after I have loaded Signal. Vote with your feet people,” said user BrainCell 7.
But Meta hasn’t changed its mind, and the MetaAI button is still there, even though many don’t like it.

If you tap the button, it starts a chat with the MetaAI chatbot – but it’s not the only AI chatbot you can use with WhatsApp.
If you like using AI, you can easily chat with ChatGPT on WhatsApp, and now you can even make and edit images right in the app. You can also upload a photo and ask ChatGPT to change it for you, all without leaving WhatsApp.
It’s simple to get started. Just add ChatGPT as a contact, like you would a regular person. Use the number 1-800-CHATGPT (which is 1-800-242-8478). If you’re outside the US, make sure to save it as a US contact. There are guides online that explain how.
Once added, you can message ChatGPT just like you’d message a friend. Want to make an image? Just type something like “Create an image of...” and give a short description. ChatGPT will handle the rest.
To edit a photo, tap the + button, choose Photos, and upload the picture. ChatGPT will then ask what you’d like to do with it, and you can just explain in normal language.
If you hit the free usage limit but have a ChatGPT Plus account, WhatsApp will give you a link to connect it so you can keep generating images. It’s all very straightforward.
