DJI Mini 5 Pro Leaks Hint at 1-Inch Camera, Fresh Design, And ‘C0’ Label

DJI Mini 5 Pro: Just a few weeks after early rumours hinted at LiDAR and a bigger camera sensor, fresh leaks are giving us a much clearer idea of what the DJI Mini 5 Pro might bring to the table. And honestly, it’s looking like DJI is about to launch its most powerful sub-250g drone yet.

DJI’s Most Powerful Mini Yet?

According to detailed coverage from DroneXL, the Mini 5 Pro has already popped up in photos sporting a “C0” classification label. That’s a strong sign the drone will officially stay under the 249g weight limit, which is great news for flyers in places like the UK and EU since it means avoiding the stricter drone rules in those regions.

Even with its super-light design, the leaked specs are impressive: a 1-inch sensor paired with a 24mm f/1.8 lens, a new 48mm medium-tele crop mode (not an extra lens, just a crop), and support for 4K/120fps video. Put all that together, and the Mini 5 Pro could be a dream for travel vloggers and solo creators who want high-quality footage without running into airspace headaches.

Smarter Gimbal and New Controls

There’s also talk of a revamped gimbal system with 225–330 degrees of rotation, plus a new side button that might let the drone launch without a controller, similar to DJI’s Neo and Flip drones.

Other neat upgrades could include tap-and-twist propeller mounts for quick, tool-free blade swaps, redesigned low-noise tips, and possibly OcuSync 4+ transmission with a range of up to 25km, according to TechRadar.

A Bigger Battery Boost

On the battery side, leaks point to a new 33.5Wh pack, a big jump from the Mini 4 Pro’s ~19Wh cell. That could mean anywhere from 36 to 45 minutes of flight time, which would be a serious upgrade for anyone who hates cutting sessions short.

One interesting detail: leaked packaging doesn’t show the usual “<249g” marking, which has people wondering if DJI might release slightly different versions depending on region, or if different battery options will affect the weight.

So when’s the DJI Mini 5 Pro landing?

At first, the drone was rumoured for a 7 August launch, but that clearly didn’t happen. The latest reports now point to a September 2025 release instead.

Another bonus? It’s expected to work with Mini 3 and Mini 4 Pro batteries, which is great news for anyone thinking about upgrading.

Of course, nothing’s official until DJI says so. But judging by everything we’ve seen and heard, the Mini 5 Pro is shaping up to be not just more powerful, but also more flexible than any Mini drone before it.
