Google has officially launched the Google Pixel 10a, its latest affordable A-Series smartphone for 2026. With a refreshed design, improved durability, brighter display and steady performance upgrades, the new device aims to offer a balanced experience at a competitive price.
Let’s have a detailed look at the design, specifications and everything else.
Clean, Flat Design With No Camera Bump
One of the biggest highlights of the Pixel 10a is its completely flat design. Unlike most modern smartphones, it does not have a raised camera bump. The camera bar sits beneath the matte rear layer, which keeps the back surface smooth. When placed on a table, the phone does not wobble at all.
Last year’s design was further refined by Google, resulting in a slightly smaller/lighter phone, with a height of 153.9 mm (5.73”), Width 73.0 mm (2.87”), Thickness 9.0 mm (0.35”), and Weight 2.9 grams (0.10 oz.) less than the previous version of the device.
The Pixel 10a comes in four colour options: Obsidian, Fog (subtle green tone), Lavender and Berry (bold red shade)
The bezels around the screen are about 10% slimmer and more uniform compared to the previous generation.
Improved Durability
For the first time in the A-Series, Google has upgraded the display protection to Gorilla Glass 7i, replacing the older Gorilla Glass 3. This offers better resistance against scratches and drops.
The phone also features IP68 water and dust resistance and a satin aluminium frame.
Google says this is the most durable A-Series phone it has released so far.
Display
The Pixel 10a features a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2424, refresh rate: 60Hz to 120Hz, HDR brightness: up to 2000 nits and peak brightness: up to 3000 nits.
The brightness has increased compared to the previous model, making the screen easier to view outdoors in strong sunlight.
Performance
The Pixel 10a is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM. However, unlike the flagship Pixel 10 series, this version does not use the latest 3nm manufacturing process. Google says this decision helps maintain affordability.
Storage options include 128GB and 256GB.
For everyday tasks like browsing, social media, photography and video streaming, the performance should be smooth and reliable.
Battery and Charging
The phone carries a 5100mAh battery, similar to the previous model. Google claims that it can work for over 30 hours of regular use and last up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver mode.
Charging speeds have also improved slightly. It has 30W wired charging (up from 27W) and 10W wireless charging (up from 7.5W).
Camera
The Pixel 10a keeps the same camera setup as before, which is a 48MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide camera (120° field of view) and 13MP front camera.
Connectivity and Satellite SOS
The Pixel 10a includes a modem upgrade to Samsung’s Exynos 5400. This enables Satellite SOS, allowing users to contact emergency services even when there is no cellular network. Google is offering a two-year free trial for this feature.
One notable omission is the lack of Pixelsnap magnets, meaning it does not support the newer Qi2 magnetic accessory ecosystem.
Software Support
The Pixel 10a launches with Android 16 and will receive: Seven years of Android OS updates, security patches, and Pixel Feature Drops.
This long update policy makes it a strong option for users planning to keep their phone for several years.
Price and Availability of Google Pixel 10a
The Google Pixel 10a will be available starting March 5 through the Google Store and other retailers. Prices are $499 for 128GB and $599 for 256GB.
The Google Pixel 10a focuses on refining what already worked well in the previous generation. The flat, bump-free design stands out in a market filled with large camera modules. With a brighter display, stronger glass protection, improved charging speeds and long software support, it offers meaningful upgrades.
