Apple might have let slip what chip will power the upcoming iPad Mini, thanks to a recent code leak.
According to the discovery, the new iPad Mini looks set to feature the A19 Pro chip, the same one expected to debut in the iPhone 17 Pro this September.
The leaked code, reported by MacRumors, points to two versions: an A19 chip and an A19 Pro. The Pro version will have more GPU cores, which means stronger graphics performance.

What Chip Will Power the iPad Mini?
There’s a chance Apple could release more than one version of the iPad Mini. A higher-end model may ship with the A19 Pro, while a more affordable option could come with the standard A19 or even the A18 chip.
Rumors already suggest Apple is working on an iPad Mini with an OLED display. If that’s true, the OLED version would likely be the high-end model that benefits from the A19 Pro’s extra power for graphics and processing.
AI Power and Apple Intelligence
It’s worth remembering that Apple uses both CPU and GPU cores for AI tasks. That makes the A19 Pro especially important if the company wants to bring its most advanced Apple Intelligence features to the new iPad Mini.
Apple is said to be preparing Siri to compete with ChatGPT, so equipping devices with more powerful chips across the lineup would fit into that plan.

When Will the New iPad Mini Launch?
Apple is expected to announce the new iPad Mini next spring. However, the rumored OLED iPad Mini may not arrive until sometime in 2026.
