Tubi brings a big update in the UK with 40000 Free Movies and Shows to Watch Without Paying
If you are tired of expensive plans from Netflix , Disney Plus or Amazon Prime, then there is now a strong free alternative called Tubi. It is a free streaming platform where you can watch over 40000 movies and TV shows without any subscription.
Tubi launched in the UK in July 2024 with 20000 titles. Within one year, Tubi has doubled its content library and now offers all of it for free to new users.
What is Tubi and how does it work
Tubi is an ad-supported free streaming platform owned by Fox Corporation, which is Rupert Murdoch’s company. It is already a big name in the USA with over 80 million monthly active users.

Free streaming competition in the UK is growing fast

Tubi has confirmed that it will also create and show exclusive original shows for the UK market. The Senior VP of Content Acquisitions at Tubi, Sam Harowitz, shared that they have deeply studied what UK viewers like to watch.
He said
We studied performance data and found that horror, thriller, action and comedy are the most loved genres in the UK. So we focused on new content deals in these areas.
How is Tubi different from other free streaming services
There are already many free streaming services in the UK such as

- BBC iPlayer which is free for TV license holders
Besides these, big tech companies like Samsung and Roku also run their own ad-supported channels. But Tubi stands out because of its massive content library that offers a wide variety of genres like horror, action, comedy and thrillers all in one place.
Tubi UK General Manager Ross Appleton said
Our goal is to offer a simple and free streaming option when paid platforms are becoming expensive and confusing. We are now the biggest free content provider in the UK.
