When streaming first took off, one of the perks was easily sharing subscriptions with friends and family. But in May 2023, Netflix started cracking down on password sharing globally. Now, Disney+, Hulu, and Max are following suit. This has left many wondering: which streaming services still allow password sharing? Here’s a look at the ones that do.

Max Subscription Plans

  • Ad-Supported Subscription
Price: $9.99 per month or $100 per year
Features: Access to all HBO content with ads
  • Premium Subscription
Price: $16.99 per month or $150 per year
Features: Ad-free access and additional content
  • Simultaneous Streams: 2 devices
  • Free Trial: Not available

Although Max plans to crack down on password sharing, these measures haven’t been implemented yet. Later this year, users will see mild reminders about using others’ accounts, with stronger enforcement expected in 2025 and 2026. For now, subscribers can still freely share HBO and Warner Bros. content.

Amazon Prime Video:

Amazon Prime Video Subscription Plans

  • Simultaneous Streams: 3 devices
  • Price: $8.99 per month (standalone) or $14.99 per month (with Amazon Prime)
  • Free Trial: 30 days (with Amazon Prime)

Prime Video lets subscribers share passwords freely and even mocked Netflix’s crackdown on it. In May 2023, the official Prime Video Twitter account posted a joke about Netflix’s move, showing a profile called “Password.” They’ve since joked about not following Netflix’s lead, and so far, they haven’t made any changes.

Peacock:

  • Ad-Supported Subscription
    Price: $7.99 per month
    Features: Access with ads
  • Premium Subscription
    Price: $13.99 per month
Features: Ad-free access and additional content
  • Simultaneous Streams: 3 devices
  • Free Trial: Not available

While Peacock’s terms of service technically forbid sharing your account outside your household, like most streaming platforms, they don’t actively enforce this. In fact, Peacock allows up to three simultaneous streams, making it easy to share passwords without issue.

Apple TV+:

Apple TV+ Subscription Plans:

  • Price: $9.99 per month
  • Free Trial: 7 days free or 3 months free with an Apple device purchase
  • Simultaneous Streams: 6 devices

Apple TV+ offers critically acclaimed shows like Ted Lasso and Severance, and allows password sharing. However, sharing your account also gives access to your entire Apple Account, which might be a concern.

Paramount+

Paramount+ Subscription Plan:

  • Price: Starts at $5.99 per month
  • Free Trial: 1 week
  • Simultaneous Streams: 3 devices

A friend with Paramount+ can easily share their password with you, as the service doesn’t restrict it in their terms. With up to three simultaneous streams, it’s perfect for Star Trek fans looking to share.
