This iPhone Feature Helps You Stay Focused While Driving: Driving takes your full attention, but it’s not always easy when your phone keeps buzzing and tempting you to check what’s happening. If you have an iPhone, there’s a helpful feature that can make things easier.

Since iOS 15, Apple has included something called Driving Focus. It’s designed to help you stay focused while driving, blocking out unnecessary distractions but still letting important calls come through.

You can also choose certain people who can always reach you, even when Driving Focus is on. Once you’ve set it up, all messages – from SMS to chat apps – are silenced. Calls only come through if your iPhone is connected to your car via CarPlay or Bluetooth.

When Driving Focus Turns On Automatically

In some cases, Driving Focus can switch on by itself. This happens if your car supports CarPlay or has a Bluetooth hands-free system.

If your phone isn’t connected to the car and you’re just using it for navigation or keeping it nearby, you’ll need to turn Driving Focus on manually.

To do this, open Control Centre and tap Driving under the Focus options. Just remember to turn it off once you’ve reached your destination.

Let Others Know You’re Driving

Another handy feature lets people know when you’re behind the wheel.

You can set Driving Focus to automatically share your status so callers or other iPhone users are notified that you’re driving.

Here’s how:

・Go to Settings and then Focus.
・Under Share Focus Status, select Driving.

This way, apps like FaceTime and iMessage will let others know that you’re currently driving and might not see their message right away.

Setting Up Auto-Replies

Driving Focus can also send automatic text replies when someone calls you. To do this:

In the Focus settings, look for Auto-Reply. Here, you can choose who will get those messages. The options are:

・No one
・Recents (people you were last in contact with)
・Favourites
・All contacts

You can also type your own message in the text field below. The best part? If someone marks their message as “urgent,” it will still go through, but only from the group you’ve chosen.
