WWDC 2025 may not bring big AI features, but these 4 Apple Intelligence projects are worth knowing
WWDC 2025 is coming soon, but people who were hoping that Apple would make a big move in AI might be disappointed this time.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, many people inside Apple also believe that this year’s WWDC will not bring anything special in terms of AI. The hope that Apple would show something strong in AI seems to be delayed for now.
But that doesn’t mean Apple is doing nothing with AI. The company is working quietly on some projects that might become powerful features in the future under the name of Apple Intelligence.
1. The real Siri upgrade is not coming yet
• The new Siri might launch in 2026
Apple has been working for a long time on a new AI-based Siri that could compete with smart assistants like Gemini Live and ChatGPT.
But Gurman says that this powerful Siri, built using Apple Intelligence, will not be announced at WWDC this year. It is now expected to come with iOS 26. People who were waiting for this Siri will have to wait a bit longer.
2. Shortcuts app is getting smarter
• Manual work will turn into automation
Apple is making a new version of the Shortcuts app with AI built into it. With this, users will be able to create useful automation without doing everything manually.
Earlier, this update was planned for 2025, but due to slow development, it may now come in 2026. This will help bring Apple Intelligence into daily use.
3. A health assistant named ‘Mulberry’ is also being made
• The AI health app might come in spring 2026
Apple is working on a new project called ‘Mulberry’, which will turn the Health app into a smart assistant like a chatbot.
It will work like fitness tools such as the Oura Ring or Whoop, but it will be more connected to Apple’s system. People who use Apple Watch may find it especially useful.
4. Apple is also building its own ChatGPT
• It is called ‘Knowledge’ and will collect data from the internet
Apple is creating a smart chatbot, currently called ‘Knowledge’. It will be able to pull data from the web to answer user questions in real time.
The project was earlier led by Robby Walker, but now Mike Rockwell from the Vision Pro team is leading it. But reports say that this project is also facing the same problems that delayed the Siri upgrade.
If you think WWDC 2025 is going to be boring because Apple has no big AI features, think again. The company is working on long-term smart projects like the upgraded Siri, AI-powered Shortcuts, a health chatbot, and a chatbot named ‘Knowledge’.
Apple Intelligence may not be the main highlight now, but when these features finally launch, they could help Apple become a strong player in the AI space.
