Xiaomi is expanding its smart home lineup. The company is trying to take on home climate control with the new Mijia Central Air Conditioner Pro. The system is now available for reservation on Chinese e-commerce platforms and is scheduled to launch later this month. The Mijia Central Air Conditioner Pro comes in several configurations to accommodate a range of home sizes. Options include 1-to-3, 1-to-4, 1-to-5 and 1-to-6 setups, each with indoor units that can connect to a single outdoor unit. The 1 to 5 and 1 to 6 models have a 6-horsepower outdoor unit that makes them better suited for larger homes.

Xiaomi has featured a dual-cylinder air-supply design in the system, a compressor with a reheat design, and a three-row aerated port and condenser. Both the indoor and outdoor units use electronic expansion valves, allowing the air conditioner to operate at extreme temperatures ranging from 28°C to 65°C.

Xiaomi claims that the air conditioner is very energy efficient. It has a super first-class energy rating with an annual performance factor (APF) of 5.50. According to the company, this could mean annual energy savings of about 982 kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to about 491 yuan in power costs. The noise level is also impressively low, reportedly reaching just 18dB(A).

Xiaomi’s new Mijia Central Air Conditioner Pro is packed with many smart features. It is equipped with a 3D air outlet panel that optimizes airflow and dual millimeter-wave radar sensors to detect human presence to automatically adjust settings. It also has a built-in air filter designed to remove more than 99% of formaldehyde. The system runs on Xiaomi’s Mi Lingyun intelligent control engine and features a 5-layer self-cleaning mechanism. It supports easy integration with Xiaomi’s Pengpai Zhilian ecosystem, full-link OTA updates, and smart air management panels for fine-tuned control.
