Apple has released a new iOS 18.3.2 update for its iPhone users, which aims to remove a dangerous security threat. This update is not a trivial one, but has been made available immediately to prevent a major attack by hackers. A way for hackers: A hidden security flaw in Safari

This threat is related to Safari and the WebKit engine, which works to display the web content of many Apple apps. WebKit helps websites load, but hackers have found a way to bypass the engine’s rules and gain access to your device. If you visit a wrong or dangerous website, hackers can gain control of your phone.

Attacks were already underway

Apple has also admitted that this was not just a theoretical vulnerability, but hackers had already started exploiting it. This is a flaw that can be exploited through sophisticated attacks, which have been targeted by many high-profile people such as journalists, activists, or business leaders.

This hack was done by those cybercriminals who already know such security flaws and take advantage of them. But this does not mean that you are away from danger. Cybercriminals often target common people as well, who do not keep their phones up-to-date.

Flaw bypassing previous fixes

Apple had earlier also tried to close this flaw through iOS 17.2 in 2023, but now in 2025 hackers have found a new way to do it. That’s why Apple has had to give a new update that can fix the old security flaws.

Why is this update important for you?

Many people might be wondering why hackers would target them, but when a flaw is exposed to everyone, it can spread to common people as well. Hackers look for devices that are not updated. If you have not updated your phone, you can easily become their target.

All Apple devices affected

This is not just an issue of iPhones. Devices like iPads, Macs, and Apple Vision Pro are also affected by this flaw, as WebKit is used on all these platforms. That’s why just updating the iPhone will not be enough, you will have to update your other Apple devices as well.

How easy is it to update?

Updating to iOS 18.3.2 is very easy and takes only a few minutes. Go to Settings > General > Software Update and tap on “Update Now”. Your phone will do the rest of the work on its own, and the new version will start running as soon as your device restarts. This work of a little while will be enough to save you from a big danger.

Lockdown Mode for Privacy

If you feel that you are a high-risk user, like a journalist or a public figure, then you can use Lockdown Mode. It can protect your phone from advanced attacks and you can enable it by going to Settings > Privacy & Security.

Not only Apple, but Google also had to face this flaw and they also released an emergency update for Chrome. Both companies releasing updates simultaneously for the same flaw shows how big a risk it is.

Last thing: Update is necessary

If you are thinking that updating is not necessary, then take a decision after thinking carefully. iOS 18.3.2 is not a simple update, but a security measure that is meant to protect you from hackers.

It is in your hands to keep your device safe by updating now.
