iOS 18.5 Adds Subtle Tweaks as Apple Prepares for iOS 19
iOS 18.5 looks like a minor tune-up while Apple gears up for a major iOS 19 launch. Discover what’s changed and what’s coming.

iOS 18.5 brings small updates, big changes expected in iOS 19
Apple has recently released the third developer beta of iOS 18.5. This beta version includes some small changes that may improve apps like Mail and Settings. But if you were hoping for big updates, this beta might disappoint you.
New change in the Settings app
In iOS 18.5 beta, the first change is in the Settings app. Now, AppleCare+ information is easier to see and placed at the top. In the Apple Account section, you can also view AppleCare+ details for your registered devices more easily.
Mail app also has a new option
There is also a new feature in the Mail app. Now, you can turn off contact photos in your inbox. You can do this by tapping the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the Mail app and selecting “Show Contact Photos.” Earlier, this option was hidden deep inside Mail settings.
This is only a small update

It is important to note that these changes were already seen in earlier versions of the iOS 18.5 beta. Since there are no big new features in the latest beta, it seems this update is focused on fixing bugs and improving performance.
Apple has not shared the exact date when iOS 18.5 will be released for everyone, but right now, iOS 18.4.1 is available to all users. That version fixes several issues, including a CarPlay problem that made it hard for many users to use entertainment features in their cars.
Big changes expected in iOS 19
Now, all eyes are on the next big update, iOS 19, which Apple may announce at the WWDC event on June 9. This update is expected to bring a new design and many new features.
Looking at this, it makes sense why iOS 18.5 has only small updates. Apple may be focusing its time and effort on making iOS 19 better.
