Asus is set to launch its highly anticipated ROG Phone 9 series on November 19 as confirmed by the Taiwanese company. The new lineup of gaming smartphones will feature the newly unveiled Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, to offer an enhanced performance designed for gamers.
Ahead of the official release, leaks have surfaced online revealing alleged renders of the Asus ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro. Both models look to retain the distinctive boxy design of their predecessors, complete with a flat frame and a triple-camera setup on the rear.
The ROG Phone 9 Pro is expected to come in a sleek black finish, featuring a textured back panel reminiscent of previous models in the series. The device sports a flat display with a centrally positioned selfie camera. On the back, a camera bump is located in the top-left corner, holding three camera sensors along with an LED flash.
The Pro variant is said to arrive with AeroActive Cooler X, which attaches to the rear of the device. This not only facilitates charging but also aids in thermal management during intense gaming sessions. Additionally, the model appears to have a protective case featuring elevated corners for added durability.
The vanilla ROG Phone 9 is said to retain 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR 1-120Hz LTPO display from Samsung with up to 2500 nits peak brightness, but with up to 185Hz refresh rate option for gaming. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is said to be clocked at up to 4.1GHz instead of 4.3GHz mentioned by Qualcomm according to the leak.
Asus teased the new ROG Phone 9 devices during the Snapdragon Summit earlier this week, highlighting the inclusion of the innovative AniMe display. The company is expected to integrate artificial intelligence features to further enhance the gaming experience.
