All eyes are on Las Vegas as CES 2026 gets underway, and Samsung has wasted no time in making headlines. The company has officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Book 6, a new laptop lineup aimed at raising expectations for what a premium PC should deliver. For users looking for top-tier performance and design, Samsung believes the bar has now been set higher.

Alongside its usual showcase of giant displays and foldable tech, Samsung used the event to introduce the Galaxy Book 6 family. According to the company, these laptops focus on the features people actually want when upgrading. By pairing the latest Intel processors with a cleaner design, Samsung says it has managed to deliver more than 24 hours of battery life in a sleek and lightweight body.

Panther Lake Processors Power the Samsung Galaxy Book 6:

Fresh off Intel’s own announcements at CES, Samsung confirmed that the entire Galaxy Book 6 range will run on Intel’s new Panther Lake processors. These chips have been fine-tuned for three models: the Galaxy Book 6, Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and the top-end Galaxy Book 6 Ultra.

The 16-inch Galaxy Book 6 Ultra sits at the top of the lineup and can be configured with Core Ultra X9 processors. It also offers a choice between Intel Arc graphics and NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPUs. Samsung claims this setup delivers a 60% boost in processing power and a 70% jump in graphics performance compared to earlier models. This launch is especially notable as there was no Ultra model in the previous generation.

All models benefit from an improved cooling system using larger vapour chambers and redesigned fans. The Ultra takes things further with a dual-path fan system designed to pull heat away from the graphics card more efficiently.

Sharper Displays and Bigger Choices:

Samsung is offering the Galaxy Book 6 Pro in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, powered by up to Core Ultra X7 processors and Intel Arc graphics. One of the standout upgrades for both the Pro and Ultra is the new 2.8K AMOLED 2X touchscreen. These displays now reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness, which Samsung says is double the previous generation, and they support adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz.

Sleeker Design with Practical Touches:

While the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra keeps a more traditional laptop shape, the Pro models feature a tapered teardrop design similar to the MacBook Air. Despite the comparison, Samsung’s clean and uncluttered design stands out. The Ultra also keeps its USB-A port and adds a full-size SD card slot, fixing a key complaint from earlier models.

The keyboard layout has been slightly adjusted, and this generation introduces haptic trackpads. Early demos suggested the trackpad may feel overly sensitive, though users can tweak settings to suit their preferences.

Upward-firing speakers now sit on either side of the keyboard. The Ultra model includes a six-speaker system with four woofers and two tweeters, arranged to reduce distortion and improve sound quality.

Thinner, Cooler, and Longer-Lasting:

Each Galaxy Book 6 model is slimmer than before, with the Ultra measuring 15.4mm and the Pro just 11.9mm. Samsung has also reworked the internal layout and battery design. The company claims both the Pro and Ultra can deliver up to 30 hours of video playback on a single charge.

The Ultra adds fast-charging support, reaching 63% battery in just 30 minutes.

AI Features Take Center Stage:

No 2026 laptop launch would be complete without AI, and Samsung highlighted several new tools. These include an AI-powered feature that isolates subjects in photos for quick sharing, and a Note Assist tool that helps organise and summarise written notes.

Samsung hasn’t yet shared pricing or availability details for the Galaxy Book 6 lineup. With CES running from January 4 to 9, more information is expected soon as the tech world gathers in Las Vegas.
