Garmin fans, lace up for a new smartwatch that’s about to drop. The company teased an upcoming launch on its Chinese social media, saying its latest devices will be revealed tomorrow (July 22). There’s also talk of a wider global release shortly after.
Garmin Teases New Smartwatch Launch
Garmin, known for its rugged, GPS-powered smartwatches, is a favorite among runners, cyclists, hikers, and other outdoor lovers. Their watches track everything from fitness stats to sleep, and they’re built tough for all kinds of weather and terrain.
From what we can see in the teaser, it looks like the next Forerunner model is on the way. The silhouette in the image shows a five-button layout, a narrow strap, and a bold bezel, all signature signs of the Forerunner line.
Garmin competes with top names like Apple, Fitbit, and Whoop, but stands out with its focus on health tracking, long battery life, and tools made for serious outdoor athletes.
A Closer Look at the Forerunner 570 and 970
This new launch comes right after the release of the Forerunner 570 and 970. The 570 comes in two sizes (42mm and 47mm) and features Garmin’s brightest screen yet, a built-in speaker and mic, personalised training plans with Garmin Triathlon Coach, and even a handy evening report to help you prep for the next day.
If you’re into tracking your performance or training for your next big race, Garmin’s got something new to check out.
“Created for every athlete who is out there chasing goals and passionate about their data, the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 include innovative training tools, recovery metrics and connected features to help them perform at their best,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin vice president of consumer sales and marketing.
“Whether you’re an elite athlete striving for your fastest time yet or a runner upping mileage to prepare for that next big race, these premium smartwatches are here for every step of your running journey,”

Garmin’s Forerunner smartwatches are made with runners and athletes in mind. They come packed with helpful tools like heart rate tracking, pace and distance monitoring, VO2 max estimates, and built-in training plans to help you push toward your next personal best.
These watches give you real-time stats, so you know exactly how you’re doing during your workouts.
If you’re just getting started or training seriously, Garmin has a range of Forerunner models to match your level:
-
Forerunner 55 and 165: Great for beginners, with all the basics you need
-
Forerunner 265: A solid mid-range option that supports multiple sports
-
Forerunner 965: Top-tier with advanced tracking for dedicated athletes
Aside from a possible new Forerunner, there are also hints that a new Garmin Venu 4 might be on the way. It was spotted in a user manual from the Garmin Golf app – a tool that pairs with your watch to help you track, review, and share your golf performance.
The Venu series focuses more on all-around fitness and lifestyle features, so the next model could come with a brighter display, smoother interface, a built-in flashlight, and smarter fitness tracking. We’re still waiting on an official release date.
Garmin watches also work with popular apps like Strava, Komoot, Spotify, and YouTube Music, so you can keep your playlists, routes, and workouts all in one place.
