Your Apple Watch Just Got Google Calendar
If you’re living that Apple-Google hybrid life (and let’s be honest, most of us are), you know the drill: iPhone in your pocket, Mac on your desk, but Gmail, Google Maps, and Chrome running the show behind the scenes.
But if you’re rocking an Apple Watch, Google hasn’t exactly rolled out the red carpet for you. Until now, only Google Maps and YouTube Music were playing nice with your wrist.
Well, guess what? That sad little club just got a third member.
Google Calendar has officially landed on Apple Watch.
Google Calendar on Your Wrist- Here’s What’s New

This isn’t just a glorified notification system. It’s a real, functional Google Calendar app built for the Apple Watch. Granted, it’s not the full iPhone experience but it does a solid job.
-
You get a week’s worth of events (not the full month, baby steps).
-
Each event is color-coded, so you can spot the boring Zoom calls from the exciting birthday dinners at a glance.
-
Tap into an event and you’ll see its time, your linked Google Tasks, and the date in the top-right corner.
-
If there’s more info (like a location), the app nudges you to check your iPhone for the full story.
Complications & Customization
The app brings two new Apple Watch complications to your home screen:
-
“What’s Next” – shows your next scheduled event
-
“Today’s Date” – gives you the date at a glance, and one-tap access to the app
You can also toss it into your Smart Stack for easy swiping when you’re pretending to check the time in meetings.
How to Get It
Surprise: just because you’ve got Google Calendar on your iPhone doesn’t mean it magically appears on your Apple Watch.

Here’s how to install it:
-
On your Apple Watch, open the App Store and search for “Google Calendar.”
(This method is weirdly easier than doing it on your phone.) -
Or, open the Watch app on your iPhone and install it from there.
Google Calendar for Apple Watch is here, and it’s clean, useful, and long overdue. It won’t replace your iPhone app, but it’s perfect for wrist-level planning and peeking at your day without pulling out your phone.
Finally, your Apple Watch can be more than just a fancy step counter and emoji sender.
