Gemini Takes Over Galaxy Watches Replacing Google Assistant in All Wear OS 4+ Devices
Samsung introduced an AI tool with Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic that was earlier limited to phones. It is called Gemini, and this time Google has completely changed the game. This is the same Gemini that is replacing Google Assistant and not just in new models.
If you have Galaxy Watch 4, 5, 6 or 7, there is no need to worry. Google has officially confirmed that Gemini is coming to older models too. It will take some time because the company said the update will come to all Wear OS 4+ watches in the coming weeks.
Not just Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo and Xiaomi users should also get ready

This update is not limited to Galaxy Watch only. Google also said that all smartwatches running on Wear OS, whether they are from Samsung or OnePlus, Oppo or Xiaomi will get access to Gemini. So if your smartwatch supports Wear OS 4+, you will be able to use Gemini too.
The timing of this update is also interesting. Samsung showed this feature just a few days ago in the Galaxy Unpacked event and now Google has officially started rolling it out without delay.
Gemini vs Google Assistant: What is the difference
Now the question is, what is different about Gemini compared to Google Assistant? The biggest difference is in how it talks. Gemini responds more naturally and it doesn’t feel like you are talking to a machine.
But that’s not all. Gemini has a bigger knowledge base and is better at understanding and answering complex questions.
Google gave an example. If you ask Gemini on your Galaxy Watch, “For how long should I roast sliced vegetables and at what temperature” it will not only give you the answer but also explain it clearly.
The Galaxy Unpacked event also showed how Gemini will work smoothly with every brand’s native apps with the upcoming Wear OS 6 update.
Google and Samsung have started taking AI to the next level. Gemini coming into the Galaxy Watch ecosystem is not just an upgrade but a moment that will shape the future of smartwatch experience. What was earlier just a digital assistant is now becoming an intelligent companion and every Wear OS user is going to have that power on their wrist.
