The iOS 26.2 Beta Is Out Now and Here’s What’s Coming to Your iPhone Soon: If you’ve just updated to iOS 26.1, you might be surprised to hear that Apple is already testing iOS 26.2. The beta version has just landed, and it’s packed with new features and small upgrades that make your iPhone even more customizable and useful.
While downloading the beta isn’t recommended for most people since it’s still in testing and can be buggy, it does give us a preview of what’s coming next. Here are nine new features you can expect when iOS 26.2 officially rolls out.
iOS 26.2 Beta: 9 Exciting New Features Coming To Your iPhone
1. A New Liquid Glass Lock Screen Slider:
With iOS 26.2, you’ll get more control over your lock screen look. As shared by MacRumors, there’s now a new slider that lets you adjust how your clock appears. You can still choose between a solid or glass-style clock, but if you pick the glass option, you can now fine-tune how transparent it looks using the slider.
2. Reminder Alarms:
If you tend to ignore reminders, this update might help. When you toggle the “Urgent” option while creating a reminder, you can now attach an alarm to it. When it goes off, it behaves like a normal alarm, giving you options to snooze or stop it. You can even choose whether the snooze button marks the reminder as complete or reschedules it.
3. Enhanced Safety Alerts:
In Settings under Notifications, you’ll find a new Enhanced Safety Alerts option. According to 9to5Mac, this feature lets you turn on alerts for earthquakes and imminent threats. There’s also a toggle for “Improve Alert Delivery,” which shares your approximate location with Apple to make alerts more timely and reliable.
4. Upgrades to the Podcasts App:
Podcasts are getting smarter. The app will now automatically create chapters for episodes that don’t already have them, helping you skip to specific parts easily. You can also view and follow other podcasts mentioned in an episode right from the transcript or player, and quickly access any links shared in the episode.
5. Flash for Alerts:
A handy accessibility addition lets you make your screen flash when you receive alerts. You’ll find this under Settings > Accessibility > Flash for Alerts. Previously, only the camera flash could be used, but now you can choose to have the screen flash instead or use both.

6. More Accurate Sleep Scores:
Sleep tracking is getting an upgrade too. The Health app will now show Sleep Scores that better reflect how you feel. Apple has adjusted the score ranges for categories like “Very Low,” “Low,” and “Very High.” For instance, you now need a score of 96 or higher for a “Very High” rating, compared to 90 before.
7. New Passwords Feature:
In the Passwords app, there’s now a setting to “Show Excluded Websites.” This displays all sites you’ve chosen not to save passwords for, and you can easily remove any from the exclusion list if you change your mind.
8. Tables in the Freeform App:
Freeform is becoming more useful with support for tables. You can now add, resize, and edit tables with simple drag gestures or use the “+” buttons to add rows and columns. It’s a small addition that will make organizing notes and ideas much easier.
9. Shortcuts in Apple News:
Apple News now has shortcuts at the top of the app for quick access to sections like sports, business, politics, puzzles, and food. The shortcuts seem to adjust based on what you read most, so the categories you see will likely reflect your interests.
The iOS 26.2 update might not reinvent your iPhone, but it adds plenty of thoughtful touches that improve customization, safety, and everyday convenience.
