Rumours about what Apple has planned for 2026 have been swirling for a while now. While Apple usually keeps quiet until it is ready to make a big announcement, the company does enjoy surprising its fans from time to time. That has only added fuel to the speculation.
According to analysts, Apple Inc. could be preparing a packed lineup of product launches early in the year. From the new iPhone 17e and the long-rumoured iPhone Fold to a more affordable MacBook, 2026 is shaping up to be a very busy year for Apple, and it may only be the beginning.
Apple’s new line of products
Based on a 9to5 exclusive, Apple Inc. is rumoured to launch the following products early in the year.
The iPhone 17e is expected to be the newest addition to the iPhone 17 lineup. It is said to feature the A19 chip along with the much-discussed Dynamic Island.
The base iPad is also due for an update. Rumours suggest it will come with a newer chip, possibly one that supports Apple Intelligence.
The iPad Air M4 could arrive as the next step up from the iPad Air M3, which launched in March last year. Apple is likely to continue its regular upgrade cycle here.
AirTag 2 is another product expected to launch early. It is said to include the latest security updates from iOS26.2.1 and a new Ultra Wideband chip with better range. Reports say it was released on 26 January.
Apple may also introduce a budget-friendly MacBook. This model is rumoured to use an iPhone-style A-series chip and could come in fun colour options to appeal to a wider audience.
The MacBook Air M5 is expected to keep a similar design to the MacBook Air M4, but with updated internals and fresh colour choices.
For professionals, Apple is rumoured to launch the MacBook Pro M5 Pro and Max models. These are said to come in 14-inch Pro and 16-inch Max sizes, with the larger model being a new addition.
The Apple Studio Display 2 is also on the cards, with rumours pointing to 120Hz Pro-Motion support.
Alongside it, analysts believe Apple could finally release a new Pro Display XDR. This is expected to be the second high-end display in Apple’s lineup.
An updated Apple TV is also expected. It will likely support 4K, use an upgraded A17 Pro chip, and may even include a built-in camera.
Apple may also introduce the HomePod Touch, a brand-new product featuring a 7-inch touchscreen display. Finally, the HomePod mini 2 is expected to arrive with improved sound quality and a newer chip.
Mid-year Mac upgrades
The middle of 2026 is also expected to bring new Mac hardware. Apple Inc. is rumoured to launch the Mac mini M5, which could be available in both M5 and M5 Pro versions.
Alongside it, the Mac Studio M5 is expected to debut, powered by Apple Inc.’s newest M5 Ultra chip. This would further strengthen Apple’s desktop lineup for power users.
Big fall launches to watch
As usual, September is expected to be a major moment for Apple. The spotlight will likely be on the new iPhone 18 family.
The iPhone 18 Pro is rumoured to feature the A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, and under-display Face ID. The iPhone 18 Pro Max will join it, offering a larger battery and upgraded camera, as has been Apple’s pattern in past years.
The iPhone Fold is also expected to arrive in the fall. Beyond its wide design and large display without a visible crease, it is rumoured to feature a titanium finish. Some reports even suggest it could be branded as the iPhone 18 Ultra.
A successor to the popular iPhone Air is also likely. The iPhone Air 2 is expected to feature a second rear camera and may also run on the A20 chip.
Other possible fall releases include the AirPods Pro 3, which may feature built-in cameras to support Visual Intelligence and other AI-powered features. Apple is also expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4, both using a new S-Class chip and possibly featuring Touch ID.
Tablet fans may see a new iPad mini with an OLED display and the A20 Pro chip. Rounding out the year could be the MacBook Pro M6, which is rumoured to get a completely new design along with an OLED touch display.
If even half of these rumours turn out to be true, 2026 could be one of Apple’s most exciting years yet.
