OPPO has officially confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, the Find X9 Ultra, will debut in global markets later this year. The announcement was made during a media event at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where the company outlined its plans to expand the Ultra series beyond China for the first time.

The Find X9 Ultra is being positioned as a camera-focused flagship device. Over the past few years, OPPO has steadily strengthened its presence in mobile photography, and with the Ultra model, the company aims to push those capabilities even further.

Focus on advanced imaging

The heart of the Find X9 Ultra is OPPO’s top-tier camera system. Co-developed with Hasselblad, this is part of an ongoing partnership that has formed a basis for OPPO’s most premium smartphones to date. As per OPPO, using better optical hardware combined with improved colour tuning allows for producing images that are more naturally looking and more detailed.

There are no official specifications yet available for the Find X9 Ultra, but initial reports indicate that it will have a more advanced 4-camera setup than other mobiles. Based on information from the industry, there could be a 200MP primary camera along with a 200MP 3X telephoto lens. One rumoured feature is a 50MP periscope camera capable of up to 10X optical zoom, as well as a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

If these specifications are confirmed, then the Find X9 Ultra may be one of OPPO’s highest-end smartphones ever when launched. In addition to the sensor upgrades, it is expected that the 200MP periscope might be a very large sensor (1/1.28″), which would increase performance in low light, as well as allow for better detail within the images captured. Finally, along with the hardware improvements, new enhancements will include new AI-based image processing technologies to create a clearer image from zoom-in shots, better images in portrait mode and more accurate colour representation of subjects photographed.

Bigger battery and faster charging

Beyond photography, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to deliver notable improvements in battery performance. OPPO executive Zhou Yibao has confirmed that the device will pack a battery exceeding 7,000mAh. This marks a clear increase over the previous generation and signals a focus on longer usage times.

The handset is also likely to support high-speed wired charging as well as 50W wireless charging, ensuring that the large battery can be replenished quickly and conveniently.

Building on the Find X9 Pro

To help gauge the anticipated upgrade, let’s take a look at the current OPPO Find X9 Pro. The Pro edition already has great specs and features, including premium hardware, such as an inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K Resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as high brightness levels. It utilises MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, manufactured on its 3nm process. It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 Storage.

When it comes to cameras, the Find X9 Pro boasts a megapixel 200mm periscope lens with 3X optical zoom, supported by 50 megapixels of main sensor resolution as well as a similar resolution of ultra-wide sensor, plus 50mp front-facing selfie camera.

Lastly, the FindX Pro has a Silicon-carbon 7,500mAh battery, 80W wired charge speed and 50W wireless charge speed. It has an IP69 rating (dust and water ingress resistant). Runs on ColorOS 16 on/top of Android 16.

With the Ultra variant, OPPO is expected to go a step further in camera hardware, zoom performance, battery capacity and overall processing power.

The global launch of the Find X9 Ultra marks an important step for OPPO’s premium smartphone strategy.
