Poco has officially confirmed the global launch date for its upcoming Poco X8 series smartphones. The company will unveil the new lineup on March 17, introducing the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max to international markets. The new models are expected to bring powerful hardware, large batteries, and fast charging, continuing Poco’s focus on performance-driven devices at competitive prices.
Design and teaser details
Recent teaser images shared by Poco have revealed the overall design of the upcoming phones. The devices feature a dual-camera setup on the back along with an LED flash, arranged in a clean rectangular module.
The teaser also hints at a power button with dual-color accents, adding a small visual highlight to the design. The phones are expected to be available in black and white color options.
Alongside the standard versions, Poco is also preparing a special Iron Man Edition of the Poco X8 Pro. Leaked renders earlier suggested that this variant will include custom design elements inspired by the Marvel character, making it an attractive option for fans.
Poco has also confirmed the processors that will power the upcoming models. The Poco X8 Pro is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, while the Poco X8 Pro Max could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset.
These processors are designed to offer strong performance for gaming, multitasking, and everyday use.
Possible rebranded Redmi models
According to several reports, the Poco X8 Pro may be a modified version of the REDMI Turbo 5 that was introduced in China. However, the Poco model may come with a slightly smaller 6,500mAh battery, compared to the 7,560mAh battery in the Chinese version.
Similarly, the Poco X8 Pro Max could be based on the REDMI Turbo 5 Max, though with an 8,500mAh battery instead of the larger 9,000mAh battery found in the original device.
Display, performance and software
The Poco X8 Pro is expected to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, offering smooth scrolling and improved visual clarity. The phone could be available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The device will likely run HyperOS based on Android 15 or possibly Android 16.
The special Iron Man Edition is also expected to include custom icons, animations, and wallpapers, giving the phone a distinct visual theme.
Camera and additional features
In terms of photography, the Poco X8 Pro may include a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone could feature a 32MP front camera.
Other expected features include:
- Dual stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio
- In-display fingerprint sensor
- Possible IP rating for water and dust resistance
The Poco X8 Pro Max is also expected to include a 50MP main camera with OIS, an AMOLED display, and 100W fast charging support.
Expected pricing strategy
Poco has built a strong reputation for offering high specifications at competitive prices. With the launch of the Poco X8 series, the company is expected to follow the same strategy, positioning the devices as strong options in the performance-focused smartphone segment.
More details, including official specifications, pricing, and availability, will be revealed during the global launch event on March 17.
