Galaxy Watch 8: With new design and features, Samsung brings big change to its smartwatch line-up
After the leak of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 design, there is a lot of excitement in the tech world. This time, Samsung has made changes to its watch lineup that have not been seen before. Both Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic now have a rectangular touch in design for the first time, but the display is still circular. This hybrid approach gives smartwatch users a different look.
Galaxy Watch 8 new design surprised everyone
This time, Samsung has moved away from its traditional round dial and added a rectangular case to the Galaxy Watch 8 and Classic model. This design feels a bit square, but the screen is still fully circular. This combination is not completely rectangular like the Apple Watch, and also not fully round like the older Samsung watches. This hybrid shape has added a new direction in the smartwatch market.
The look of Galaxy Watch 8 is sleek and modern. It has clean edges and minimalistic finishing which clearly targets young and tech-savvy users. On the other hand, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is designed for users who want a formal look but also don’t want to miss the fitness and health features of a smartwatch.

Major shift in size options too
Another big change is in the size options. Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will now come in only one size, which is 47 mm. This size may feel too big for people with slim wrists. But the standard version of Galaxy Watch 8 will still be available in two sizes, which are 40 mm and 44 mm. So if you want a lightweight and compact design, you still have an option.
New features added in health tracking tools
Along with the design, Samsung has also added new tools in the health features. New metrics like Vascular Load have been included in the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup. It shows how much stress is put on your blood vessels during workouts. Apart from this, Samsung has recently announced a few other new health tools too, which make the smartwatch more useful for fitness-conscious users.
Galaxy Watch Ultra successor may also be revealed
Leaked reports also suggest that Samsung may announce a new version of Galaxy Watch Ultra, which may be called Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025. But this update may not have many hardware changes, only cosmetic changes like new colors are expected, just like Apple did with Ultra 2.
Galaxy Unpacked event will make everything official
Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is expected in just a few weeks, possibly in the first week of July. That’s where Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and maybe Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 will be officially announced. Until then, people are guessing based on leaks and renders about what new things Samsung is planning to bring in its wearable segment.
Samsung has not only tried a new design with Galaxy Watch 8 but also set a new direction in the world of smartwatch design. With its hybrid design, new health tools, and multiple size options, this smartwatch targets all types of users. Now all eyes are on the Galaxy Unpacked event where final confirmation will be given.
