Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: First Budget Foldable from Samsung
At Samsung’s summer Unpacked event, the Z Flip 7 FE was launched along with the regular Flip 7. While Flip 7 brings a new edge-to-edge display, the Flip 7 FE follows the older folder-style cover screen design. It looks similar to the Flip 6 but is now part of the FE family.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE price starts at $899, making it cheaper than the regular Flip 7 which is priced at $1,099. It’s still higher than Motorola Razr’s $699 price, but Samsung is clearly trying to make foldables more accessible.
Availability and Color Options
Both phones are now available for preorder in the US, and open sales begin on July 25. The Flip 7 will come in black, blue, red, and green. Flip 7 FE will only be available in black and white.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE Specifications and Compromises
Flip 7 FE features a 3.4-inch 720p cover display and a 6.7-inch internal screen. Camera setup includes a 10MP front camera, 12MP ultra-wide and 50MP wide-angle camera. It comes with a 4000mAh battery and storage options of 256GB or 512GB.
While Flip 6 had 12GB RAM, but the Flip 7 FE only has 8GB. It also uses the slower Exynos 2400 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
Flip 7: Premium Build with Better Display and Features
Flip 7 offers a 4.1inch AMOLED cover screen that wraps around the camera with almost no bezels. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and 2600 nits peak brightness, compared to 60Hz and 1600 nits on the earlier model. Its internal screen is slightly bigger at 6.9 inches.
The phone also has a bigger 4300mAh battery, even though it’s thinner at 13.7mm when folded. It supports Samsung DeX desktop mode, making it ideal for work and multitasking.
Budget Foldables is Now a Reality
Samsung’s decision to bring its foldables to the Fan Edition series marks a new chapter in the foldable segment. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE price makes it a serious option for users who want a stylish foldable experience at a lower cost.
If you want a powerful, premium foldable phone, Flip 7 is the better pick. But for balanced performance and budget, Flip 7 FE opens up a new segment for Samsung fans.
