Final Audio has expanded its popular DX series with a brand-new model, the DX3000CL, the first-ever closed-back headphones in the lineup. These new over-ear headphones promise to deliver the precision, warmth, and clarity that Final’s high-end models are known for, but at a much more approachable price.
Final Audio Launches DX3000CL: A Premium Experience at a Lower Price
The DX series has earned praise from audiophiles around the world, though its flagship DX6000 model sits at a hefty £1,899 in the UK. The new DX3000CL keeps much of that premium quality but comes in at a more wallet-friendly £579.99 / €599.99 / $599.99 (around AU$1,169).
Smooth, Natural Sound with Impressive Detail
According to Final, the DX3000CL headphones deliver “a smooth, natural tonal balance, with clear midrange, open treble and a rich, tightly controlled low-end that captures the warmth and realism listeners associate with the brand.”
Inside each earcup sits a 40mm paper/carbon composite dynamic driver, specially designed with a free-edge surround structure to minimize unwanted resonance. This helps the headphones maintain the clarity and sonic integrity that fans expect from the DX6000.
Closed-Back Design Tuned for Openness
While these are closed-back headphones, Final says they’ve been “tuned for openness,” giving listeners a more spacious soundstage that’s usually associated with open-back designs. The closed-back build also offers a degree of passive noise isolation, helping to block out ambient sound for a more immersive experience.

Built for Comfort and Long Listening Sessions
The DX3000CL has been designed with comfort in mind. Its lightweight frame, balanced headband pressure, and softly padded earpads aim to make them comfortable for extended listening sessions, perfect for long workdays or immersive music sessions.
Early Impressions and Availability
While official reviews haven’t landed yet, early feedback from enthusiasts who tried a prototype at Warsaw Audio 2025 has been very positive. Several users on audiophile forums described the sound as “open,” “detailed,” and “surprisingly natural” for a closed-back model.
Given Final Audio’s strong track record, including the five-star, T3 Platinum Award-winning UX3000, expectations are high for the DX3000CL. If Final has managed to make a closed-back pair sound as airy as open-backed ones, these could become a new favorite among serious listeners.
The Final DX3000CL will officially go on sale on 13 November 2025.
