OnePlus Teams Up with Google Gemini to Make AI More Personal: OnePlus is taking a major step forward in smartphone AI by partnering with Google Gemini. The company has confirmed that its Mind Space feature will soon integrate with Google’s advanced AI, turning saved notes, thoughts, and ideas into data the assistant can actually understand and use.
If successful, this collaboration could bring a new level of personalization to OnePlus devices, enhancing the already innovative concept behind Mind Space.
A More Personal Kind of AI
In an exclusive conversation with TechRadar Phones Editor Axel Metz, OnePlus Europe CMO Celina Shi detailed how the company is working with Google to make AI genuinely personal. The goal is to connect Google’s flagship Gemini model directly with information users store in Mind Space.
Shi explained, “To maximize the potential of Mind Space, we have also partnered with Google to deeply integrate Mind Space with Google Gemini. This powerful integration allows Gemini to access information you’ve saved to Mind Space and combine it with its advanced LLM and real-time internet access, making it the industry’s first personalized AI with Gemini.
“With Google Gemini, you can connect with Mind Space to pull information and take action on information you previously saved,” she added.
This means Gemini will go beyond simple commands or navigation – it will understand the context of stored information and act on it intelligently.

What Exactly Is Mind Space?
Mind Space serves as a personal hub for notes, reminders, goals, and ideas. It is designed to organize information efficiently and make it more actionable rather than letting it disappear into forgotten apps.
With Gemini integration, the feature becomes significantly more powerful. For example, if a user is planning a birthday party or organizing a trip, the system could help with research, create to-do lists, and even draft messages automatically.
This marks a shift from AI that merely reacts to input toward AI that comprehends context and provides meaningful assistance.
Exciting or Concerning?
The integration raises questions about data privacy and user trust. Allowing AI to access personal information may seem risky to some, but this direction aligns with the broader evolution of AI technology. The smarter the assistant becomes, the more personal data it needs to deliver relevant and helpful responses.
OnePlus’ Larger AI Vision
The integration of Gemini fits into OnePlus’ broader AI strategy with its upcoming software release, OxygenOS 16. The company’s focus is to make AI practical, intelligent, and adaptive rather than a novelty.
OxygenOS 16, launching with the OnePlus 15, follows the philosophy called “Intelligently Yours.” This approach emphasizes AI that adapts to individual habits and needs while maintaining performance and security.
OnePlus promises that these AI-driven features will help users stay organized, enhance creativity, and simplify everyday tasks – all without compromising speed.
While other manufacturers are also integrating AI into their ecosystems, OnePlus stands out for being the first to link Google Gemini directly to a personal storage system like Mind Space.
Why the Partnership Makes Sense
Unlike Google or Apple, OnePlus does not develop its own large-scale AI models. Partnering with Google allows the company to leverage Gemini’s capabilities while preserving its hallmark focus on speed, efficiency, and simplicity.
The success of this collaboration will depend on real-world performance, but it signals OnePlus’ ambition to compete in the next phase of smartphone AI. If the integration delivers as promised, future OnePlus devices could offer an experience that feels less like using a phone and more like working alongside an intelligent assistant.
