Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Samsung is getting ready to introduce its first tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. The device will officially go on sale in South Korea on December 12, 2025, with early previews starting December 9. A US launch has not been confirmed yet, but early 2026 is being widely predicted. Only select retail stores will stock the device at launch, so customers can try out the triple-fold design firsthand.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: A Foldable That Opens Into A Tablet

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold aims to offer more than just a phone experience. When unfolded, it expands into a 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2160 x 1584 and support for up to 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. Inside, the device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (with Galaxy) and comes with 16 GB RAM along with storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB.

For photography, it features a triple-rear camera setup led by a 200 MP main sensor, paired with telephoto and ultra-wide lenses. Powering all of this is a 5,600 mAh battery, which is the largest Samsung has ever used in a foldable phone. The device supports 45 W wired charging, 15 W wireless charging, reverse charging (PowerShare), and modern connectivity standards including 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Running on Android 16 with One UI 8, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold supports standalone Samsung DeX and multitasking features suitable for tablet-like productivity. This combination is likely to appeal to professionals, creators, and tech enthusiasts.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Premium Phone, Premium Price

Samsung has priced the base model 512 GB/16 GB version at 3,594,000 KRW in South Korea. This converts to roughly US$2,450 as of now. While official US pricing is still unknown, several industry analysts expect it to be around US$2,500. Some predictions suggest a possible range going up to US$2,999 depending on regional taxes and import costs.

Given that this is Samsung’s first tri-fold design and it comes with high-end materials, strong specifications, and a large tablet-class battery, the premium pricing is not unexpected.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Why It Matters

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold stands out as a device that tries to bridge the gap between a phone and a tablet. With its tri-fold structure, large screen, and flagship-grade hardware, it could be one of the most advanced foldable devices to reach the market. US buyers may get access by early 2026, offering a chance to try Samsung’s most ambitious foldable without overseas purchase.

Even so, buyers should be aware of the likely high price and limited availability. Foldable screens still remain more delicate and expensive to repair, though Samsung is offering a one-time 50 percent discount on display repairs for TriFold users, which may make ownership a little safer.
