Xiaomi XRing 01 Processor Leak Shakes Up Tech World Before Official Launch
Xiaomi hasn’t officially announced it, but leaks and Geekbench scores have made one thing clear that the company is bringing its own flagship-level processor called the XRing 01. This processor will be unveiled in China on May 22 and that will be its first market launch for now.
XRing 01: Xiaomi’s first in-house chipset
After almost 4 years of R&D, Xiaomi has developed its first silicon chipset, called the XRing 01. The company’s posters and leaks reveal that the chipset is based on 3nm architecture, that too second-generation, which makes it ultra-efficient and performance-driven.
This is the same technology found in today’s top-tier processors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but this processor from Xiaomi comes into direct competition with it.
Benchmark Leaks Created Buzz
Two separate results have surfaced on Geekbench. In one result, the XRing 01 scored 2709 in single-core and 8125 in multi-core. In another leak, it went even further, with 3017 single-core and 9264 in multi-core. These figures are capable of giving a direct challenge to SoCs like Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9400, and Exynos 2400.
Powerful Core Setup
This processor is not a standard 8-core chip. It has a total of 10 cores, 2 cores clocked at up to 3.90GHz (which are likely Cortex-X925), 4 cores at 3.40GHz (probably Cortex A725 or X4 series), 2 more cores at 1.89GHz, and the last 2 cores running at only 1.80GHz (possibly Cortex A520). This multi-layered configuration is designed to provide a perfect balance between performance and power efficiency.
Xiaomi 15s Pro and Redmi 7 Ultra also in line
The benchmark test was done on an Android 15-based device, and there is a chance that this new phone could be the Xiaomi 15S Pro, which may be announced at the same event. Along with this, Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra is also expected to be unveiled.
Xiaomi follows the path of Apple, Google, Huawei
By making its own processor, Xiaomi has officially joined the list of tech giants like Apple, Google and Huawei, which already have in-house chips. Now Xiaomi will also be able to control its ecosystem more tightly and optimize performance further – without the limitation of any third-party chipmaker.
When will XRing 01 come to the Global Market?
So far, signals are saying that the XRing 01 will be China-specific initially, but if the performance remains as good as the benchmark scores are showing, then there will definitely be pressure on Xiaomi for a global launch.
