YouTube provided information about the function on its help website just for test features and experiments. The platform announced that it is testing the Shorts comment topic summarizer tool. The streaming platform’s minute-long vertical videos with endless scrolling have grown in popularity.
The option of comment topics has been added to YouTube to increase user engagement in discussions. The topics summarization function enabled by AI operates simply. To locate related keywords, it runs through all of the published comments. It then creates a title for each topic and groups the most talked-about terms into distinct parts.
These topics are visible on the mobile app for long-format videos once the user submits a comment. Clicking on the various marked topics on the new ‘Topics’ tab that appears at the top of the section displays them. Every topic displays all of the relevant comments, making it simple for people to find and join engaging discussions.

According to YouTube, selected creators who are a part of the trial groups will be able to see the AI topics on Shorts during the test.
