Sony WF-1000XM6 Drops Globally With Enhanced Noise Cancellation: Specs, Prices, Full Details

Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds have been officially launched globally as the company expands its flagship 1000X series. The devices come as  a successor to WF-1000XM5, offering enhanced noise cancellation, superior sound quality, improved call clarity, and a more ergonomic design.

Sony WF-1000XM6: Features and Specifications

Sony WF-1000XM6  earbuds are 11% slimmer than their predecessor and shaped to follow the natural curves of the inner ear, providing both comfort and improved noise isolation. The charging case is compact and lightweight, measuring 61.6 × 41.1 × 26.5 mm and weighing 47 grams, while each earbud weighs just 6.5 grams. The earbuds also feature an IPX4 splash-resistance rating for protection against sweat and water.

The highligt of the new Sony earbuds is its improved active noise cancellation (ANC). Sony claims up to 25% better ANC performance compared to the WF-1000XM5, particularly in the mid-to-high frequency range, offering more immersive listening experience even in busy or challenging environments.

Sony has doubled down on audio performance on WF-1000XM6 with dual processors- Integrated Processor V2, supporting 32-bit audio and QN3e processor, enhancing DAC amplifier performance. 

The earbuds feature a newly designed driver unit that delivers deep bass and extended high frequencies with minimal distortion. Other audio features include:

  • 360 Reality Audio compatibility with head tracking
  • Background Music Effect
  • 10-band customizable EQ via the Sony Sound Connect app

Each earbud now includes two microphones and a bone-conduction sensor, which works with an AI beamforming noise-reduction algorithm to isolate your voice in noisy environments. This enhances the call quality.

The earbuds also support Gemini, Sony’s hands-free voice assistant, and Gemini Live, enabling natural, uninterrupted conversations without touching your device.

The Sony WF-1000XM6 features larger antennas (1.5× bigger than the previous model) for stable connectivity and supports Bluetooth LE Audio for low-latency audio.

Battery life remains at up to 8 hours with ANC on and 24 hours with the charging case, and charging options include both USB-C and Qi wireless charging.

Sony WF-1000XM5 is priced at $329.99 in the US. They are available for purchase via Sony, Amazon, Best Buy, and other authorised dealers .

The earbuds are available in Platinum Silver and Black colour options.
