Honor Magic 8 Lite: Honor has announced the Magic 8 Lite, and while the spotlight may be on its massive 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery, it’s the camera system that could make this affordable device a strong choice for photography fans.

Honor Magic 8 Lite: Powerful Camera Setup

The Magic 8 Lite comes with a 108MP ultra-sensing main camera featuring a 1/1.67-inch sensor. It also includes OIS and EIS to keep photos sharp even in tricky lighting conditions. Honor says this setup delivers “daylight precision and low-light refinement,” and with their track record in computational photography, expectations are high.

Alongside the main camera is a 5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, ideal for landscapes and group shots. On the front, there’s a 16MP f/2.45 selfie camera with AI-enhanced beauty modes. While it is not a multi-lens flagship setup, Honor hopes its clever AI tricks will allow the Magic 8 Lite to perform above its budget price.

Honor Magic 8 Lite – AI-Powered Editing Tools

Honor leans heavily on AI for photo editing as well. Features like AI Eraser, AI Cutout, and AI Outpainting bring flagship-level editing tools to a more affordable phone. There’s also a new 4K HD moving photo collage mode, letting users create dynamic visual stories directly from the gallery. Photo transfers to iOS are now supported through Honor Connection, solving a long-standing issue for cross-platform users.

Honor Magic 8 Lite – Huge Battery and Fast Charging

The Magic 8 Lite’s 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery promises up to three days of use, with a longevity rating of 80 percent capacity after six years. While phones like the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro have similar batteries, three days on paper does sound ambitious. The phone supports 66W wired SuperCharge and can even act as a 7.5W power bank via reverse charging.

Honor Magic 8 Lite – Durability and Display

Durability is a key focus. The Magic 8 Lite carries SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification, IP69K water resistance, and reinforced Ultra-Bounce anti-drop construction rated for drops up to 2.5 metres.

The display is a 6.79-inch 1.5K OLED screen with 1.07 billion colours, 6000-nit peak HDR brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Slim 1.3mm bezels complete the look.

Honor Magic 8 Lite – Performance and Launch Details

Powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, the phone comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. It will launch in Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Reddish Brown. Final pricing will be revealed when it goes on sale in January, but considering the Honor Magic 7 Lite launched at £399 / €399, a similar price is expected for the Magic 8 Lite.
