Which iPhones Will Support iOS 18? Here’s The Full List
The new iPhone 16 series was recently revealed by Apple, along with the new iOS 18, which will be available next week. On September 16th, iOS 18 will be released, bringing with it a plethora of new features and improvements for compatible iPhones.
While the iPhone 16 series will come with iOS 18 pre-installed, however, a few older iPhones will also get the OS update, although there may be limits on what features they can use.
List of iPhones supporting iOS 18:
To get the latest iOS update, you need an iPhone that has an A12 Bionic chip or newer. This is because the A12 chip has a special feature which is known as a neural engine. Any iPhone that doesn’t have this Bionic chip
would be too slow to run the new operating system efficiently. The iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR are the three oldest iPhones that support iOS 18.

Apple Intelligence-supported devices:
It has to be noted that not all iOS 18-supported devices will not necessarily be compatible with Apple Intelligence. Apple’s AI will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, in addition to the most recent iPhone 16 series. All of the AI functions will be available on these two iPhones. This is where things become tricky, though, because Apple has a policy of dropping the Pro models as soon as the new series is released. It will be the same for the 15 Pro models as well.
