Google Finally Fixes Slow Wireless Charging Issue on Pixel Phones

Google has started rolling out its May 2026 security update for Pixel devices, and this time the update brings more than just routine security patches.

The company is finally addressing one of the most frustrating complaints from Pixel users lately- slow wireless charging speeds.

The May update is rolling out to devices ranging from the Google Pixel 7a to the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, along with the Google Pixel Tablet.

Google fixes slow wireless charging problem

The changelog provided by Google indicates that this update resolves an issue where the rate of Wifi charging dropped drastically after the battery was charged to 75% 80% full.

The charging experience for many users has been so distracting that they have reported a loss of performance while charging their phones overnight or using Wifi chargers in their workplace and during daily activities.

The update has begun distribution this week and is identified as CP1A.260505.005.

Pixel 10 users are getting display fixes

Apart from charging improvements, Google is also pushing multiple fixes specifically for the Pixel 10 series.

Display-related bugs have been a recurring issue for Pixel 10 users over the past several months, and the May patch appears to target several of those problems directly.

These update fixes:

  • A persistent flickering white dot appears at the top of the screen
  • Random fuzzy or frozen display issues
  • Noise lines appear on the display under certain conditions

These fixes are mainly aimed at the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.

Camera and Keyboard bugs fixed

The update also includes a fix for a camera freezing issue affecting some Pixel 10 users while recording videos and adjusting zoom levels simultaneously.

Another patch targets keyboard-related problems where the keyboard or input area could freeze or appear incorrectly positioned in certain apps.

These bugs had reportedly affected usability for some users after previous Android 16 updates.

Google has been dealing with several stability complaints tied to the Pixel 10 lineup since last year.

Following the March update, some users reported that the Always-On Display (AOD) would freeze multiple times daily, sometimes forcing device restarts.

The company had already pushed gaming and performance stability improvements in April, and the May update continues that effort with more display and usability fixes.

While Pixel users have grown increasingly frustrated with repeated software issues, Google appears to be steadily patching the biggest complaints through monthly updates.
