WWDC 2026

The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC)2026 was a big deal for the company. This is because it was about the new software they are working on. A lot of people were talking about Siri, which uses artificial intelligence, before the main event.

Apple showed us that they have a much bigger plan for all their products, like the iPhone, Mac, Vision Pro, AirPods, Photos, Search and how to stay safe online.

The presentation was 75 minutes long, during which they made many announcements. But one thing was very clear: Apple is now completely on board with intelligence, and it is going to be a big part of what they do with their software.

Apple is really into intelligence, and they want it to be a big part of the Apple experience.

What Apple Announced At WWDC 2026?

  1. Siri AI

After years of waiting, Apple finally introduced a new version of Siri, a voice assistant. This new Siri uses AI to understand what you mean more easily.  It can look at what you’re doing on your phone and understand that. It can even use your camera to see what’s around you.

The way Siri looks on your phone has changed, too. Now it takes up space and looks more like it’s part of what you’re doing. On some iPhones, it starts from the middle of the screen.

Siri can now keep track of what you were talking about. It can also understand what you like. Don’t like.

The new Siri can do all these things because of voice models that make it sound more natural.

  1. Siri AI not coming to the European Union

One big surprise from WWDC was that Apple’s Siri AI will not launch in European Union countries.

Apple says that rules about data in the European Union’s Digital Markets Act are causing problems, with how personal info’s used with other AI services.

So Apple is waiting to bring Siri AI to the EU until it can work out these issues with regulators.

  1. Siri AI has Different Levels

Apple also revealed that not every compatible device will receive the same Siri AI experience.

Basic Siri AI features will be available on devices such as:

  • iPhone 15 Pro and newer
  • Macs powered by M1 chips or later
  • iPads with M1 processors or newer
  • Apple Vision Pro
  • Newer Apple Watch models

However, Apple’s most advanced on-device AI model will only run on newer hardware featuring higher memory configurations and more powerful processors.

This means premium features such as expressive voices, advanced dictation, and deeper AI capabilities will be exclusive to select next-generation devices.

  1. Siri Gets Customizable Voices

Apple is making Siri more personal than it has ever been before. Now people can pick the voice they like from a few options and they can also change things like how fast Siri talks and how much feeling she puts into what she says.

  1. Apple Intelligence Expands Photo Editing

Apple introduced major upgrades to its AI-powered photo editing tools. The existing Clean Up feature can now remove larger unwanted elements more effectively, while two entirely new features were introduced:

  • Extend

Allows users to expand image borders using AI-generated content, helping improve framing and composition.

  • Spatial Reframe

Let’s users adjust the perspective of a photo after it has been captured, creating the impression that the camera was positioned differently during the shot.

  1. Apple Changes Its Approach to AI Images

Last year, Apple positioned itself as a company focused on preserving authenticity in photos rather than generating realistic AI imagery.

WWDC 2026 signalled a noticeable shift.

Apple’s updated image-generation and editing tools now create much more realistic results, while Image Playground also gains the ability to generate lifelike images.

The move suggests Apple has become more comfortable with advanced generative AI capabilities after initially taking a more cautious approach.

  1. Siri AI in Vision Pro Offers a Look At Apple’s AI Future

One of the most intriguing demonstrations involved Siri AI inside Apple Vision Pro.

Users could look at objects, products, or webpages and ask questions naturally, with Siri understanding exactly what they were viewing.

The demonstration offered what many believe could be a preview of how future Apple smart glasses may function, combining visual awareness, eye tracking, and AI assistance into a seamless experience.

  1. macOS 27- Golden Gate

Apple officially unveiled macOS 27 Golden Gate. The update includes visual refinements, performance improvements, expanded Apple Intelligence integration, and support for Siri AI.

A new transparency slider also gives users greater control over the Liquid Glass design language introduced previously.

As always, Apple paired the release with a new California-inspired wallpaper.

  1. Search Upgraded

Apple announced a major overhaul of system-wide search.

A new and improved device index will help Spotlight, Mail, and Photos deliver faster and more accurate search results.

The company says the updated indexing system is more comprehensive and efficient, helping users find content across their devices with greater ease.

  1. Intel Macs Reach The End Of The Road

WWDC 2026 marked the official end of major macOS support for Intel-based Macs. macOS 27 Golden Gate will only run on Apple Silicon devices.

While Apple will continue providing security updates for older Intel systems, future macOS features and innovations will be focused entirely on Apple’s in-house processors.

  1. AirPods EQ

After years of requests, Apple is finally bringing customizable equalizer controls to AirPods. Users will be able to adjust audio frequencies directly through a new interface and hear changes in real time while listening to music.

The feature gives AirPods owners greater control over their listening experience without relying on third-party apps.

  1. Liquid Glass Criticism

Apple quietly addressed one of the biggest criticisms of last year’s Liquid Glass design language.

Users can now adjust transparency levels across the interface, ranging from highly transparent to almost completely opaque.

While Apple framed the change as offering more personalization, many see it as a response to usability concerns raised after the original rollout.

  1. Apple On Child Safety

Online safety emerged as a major theme during the keynote.

Apple introduced expanded parental controls, better protections against unsolicited messages, improved content filtering, and new tools designed to help app developers build safer experiences for younger users.

The announcement comes amid increasing regulatory scrutiny around child safety and digital well-being worldwide.

  1. Passwords App Gets Smarter

Apple’s Passwords app is receiving one of its most practical upgrades yet.

Beyond generating secure passwords and detecting compromised credentials, the app will now help users automatically update passwords on supported websites and services.

The feature aims to remove one of the biggest frustrations associated with maintaining strong online security.

  1. tvOS Gets Upgrades

Although it wasn’t heavily featured during the keynote, tvOS received several improvements.

Updates include:

  • Faster app launches
  • Improved AirPlay performance
  • Enhanced Podcasts app
  • Hi-Res Lossless support in Apple Music
  • AI-generated subtitles for unsupported content
