Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 17 series in India, introducing two new smartphones, the Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. With this launch, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has become the most expensive smartphone the company has released in the country so far. The new flagship focuses heavily on camera technology, performance and battery life.
The Xiaomi 17 series has been developed in collaboration with Leica for its camera system. Both smartphones come with OLED displays, powerful Snapdragon processors and fast-charging support. Xiaomi says the devices are designed for users who rely on their smartphones for photography, content creation, gaming and everyday tasks.
Price & Availability
The Xiaomi 17 starts at $974.50. Customers can purchase the smartphone through EMI options starting at $10.55 per month for nine months.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced at $ 1,407.61, making it the costliest Xiaomi phone available in India. The price includes an instant discount of up to $108.28 on SBI credit cards and credit card EMI transactions. Buyers can also choose an EMI plan starting at $156.40 per month for nine months.
The Xiaomi 17 series will go on sale in India starting March 18, 2026. The smartphones will be available through Amazon, Mi.com and Xiaomi’s retail stores across the country.
Xiaomi 17 series launch offers
Xiaomi has announced several launch offers for early buyers of the new smartphones.
Customers purchasing the Xiaomi 17 Ultra between March 13 and March 17 will receive the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Photography Kit Pro worth ₹19,999 as part of the early bird offer. Buyers who purchase the Xiaomi 17 during the same period will receive a free Phone Damage Protection Plan valued at ₹9,999.
The company is also providing additional partner benefits. Eligible users can get four months of Spotify Premium, three months of Google AI Pro, three months of YouTube Premium and Jio benefits worth up to ₹31,500.
Xiaomi 17 Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi 17 comes with a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1220 x 2656 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and is backed by a 6,330mAh battery.
It supports 100W wired fast charging along with 50W wireless charging. The device is available in Black, Blue and Green colour options.
For photography, the Xiaomi 17 features a triple 50MP Leica camera system on the back and a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The smartphone also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance and uses Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 for better durability.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra places a strong emphasis on camera performance. The smartphone features a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor designed to capture better detail in scenes that contain both bright and dark areas.
One of its biggest highlights is the 200MP Leica telephoto camera, which supports optical zoom in the 75-100mm range and allows continuous optical zoom for capturing distant subjects clearly.
The device comes with a large 6.9-inch OLED display that offers up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. This helps provide smooth visuals while also improving battery efficiency.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by a 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
For video recording, the phone supports Dolby Vision and ACES Log recording at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second. The smartphone is available in Black and White colour options.
