Apple’s 50th month of celebration was more than just launching their devices; it also quietly removed items from their product line-up.

While there have been headlines about the new iPhones, iPads, and Macs, Apple has also removed 13 products from their product line-up.

Most of the removed products were anticipated upgrades; however, there were some products whose removal carries meaningful implications.

List of Discontinued Apple Devices

Here’s everything Apple has stopped selling:

  • iPhone 16e
  • 11-inch M3 iPad Air
  • 13-inch M3 iPad Air
  • 13-inch M4 MacBook Air
  • 15-inch M4 MacBook Air
  • 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro
  • 14-inch M4 Max MacBook Pro
  • 16-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro
  • 16-inch M4 Max MacBook Pro
  • Apple Studio Display (2022)
  • AirPods Max (USB-C)
  • Pro Display XDR
  • Mac Pro

The update cycle is aggressive right now. New devices like the latest iPad Air with M4 chips and upgraded MacBook Air models are already outperforming previous generations. So, the shift to newer silicon means older variants quickly become redundant.

Even on the iPhone side, the newer “e” lineup continues to evolve with better chips and practical upgrades like MagSafe support.

This is more than simply a refresh of the products, but it shows an overall change in strategy.

Apple is making a big push into:

  • The latest processor lines (improving AI performance)
  • Streamlining product lines
  • Removing obscure, high-priced configurations

The biggest results for the typical user are increased availability of devices and the speed in which they can get new devices.

However, for advanced users, this means a decrease in the number of available products to choose from.
