WhatsApp Rolls Out 5 New Free Features Here’s How to Use Them

WhatsApp has started rolling out a fresh set of features aimed at making chats more organised, flexible and smarter. From clearing storage without deleting chats to AI-powered replies, the update touches everyday pain points users deal with.

The rollout is gradual, so not everyone will see all features immediately.

5 New WhatsApp features

So, let’s have  a look at 5 New WhatsApp Features:

  • Easier Storage Cleanup Without Losing Chats

One of the most useful additions is improved storage management. Users can now remove large photos and videos directly from a chat without deleting the entire conversation.

To use it, open any chat, tap on the contact or group name, and go to “Manage Storage.” You can selectively delete media while keeping messages intact, making it easier to free up space without losing important information.

  • Transfer Chats from iPhone to Android

Switching devices has become simpler. WhatsApp now allows full chat transfer from iPhone to Android, including messages, photos and videos.

To get started, go to Chats > Transfer Chat History on your iPhone, follow the prompts, and scan the QR code on your Android device. Make sure both devices are connected and you’re using the same phone number. Also, keep the iPhone unlocked during the process to avoid interruptions.

  • Run Two Accounts on One iPhone

iPhone users can now use two WhatsApp accounts on the same device, a feature Android users already had.

You can switch between accounts easily, with the app showing your profile picture in the bottom tab so you always know which account is active. This is especially useful for managing work and personal chats without needing two phones.

  • Smarter Sticker Suggestions

WhatsApp has improved its sticker feature by making it more intuitive. When you type an emoji, the app now suggests matching stickers automatically.

This cuts down the time spent searching and makes conversations feel more expressive with just one tap.

  • AI Tools Get a Boost

The update also expands AI features powered by Meta. Users can now edit photos inside chats by removing unwanted objects, changing backgrounds or applying styles before sending.

There’s also an upgraded writing assistant that suggests replies based on your conversation. It works similarly to tools like Google Gemini, helping users respond quickly without typing everything manually.

WhatsApp has said that chats remain private while using these AI features.

These updates show WhatsApp’s push to stay competitive as messaging apps evolve with AI and smarter tools. While the features are free, users may need to wait a bit as the rollout continues globally.
