How to lock a WhatsApp chat
Locking a WhatsApp chat is quick and doesn’t need any third-party app. Let me just explain to you simply.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp
Step 2: Press and hold the chat you want to hide
Step 3: Tap on “Lock chat”
Once done, that conversation disappears from your main chat list and moves to a separate “Locked chats” folder.
Where do locked chats go?
So, the WhatsApp chats that you have locked are not deleted; they are simply moved to the Locked Chat Folder. To access the Locked Chat Folder, go to the top of the screen and to access it, you will need to unlock your phone via biometrics- fingerprint, Face ID, PIN or pattern.
How to unlock chats again
If you don’t need the feature anymore, you can reverse it anytime.
Step 1: Go to the Locked chats folder
Step 2: Press and hold the chat
Step 3: Tap settings and select Unlock chat
The conversation will move back to your main chat list.
So, locked chat is not some complicated hack. It is built right into app and takes seconds to use.
