How to Make Your Samsung Battery Last Longer

Samsung’s newest phones have amazing screens and fast processors, but they also use a lot of power. If your battery runs out quickly, you’re not alone. The good news is that a few easy tips and small changes can help your phone’s battery last longer and keep you powered all day.

1. Reduce Screen Power Usage
Enable Dark Mode: Dark Mode saves battery on AMOLED displays.
- Go to Settings > Display > Dark Mode
Lower or Use Adaptive Brightness: Dim your screen manually or let your phone adjust brightness based on your environment.
- Swipe down to adjust manually or go to Settings > Display > Adaptive Brightness
Shorten Screen Timeout: Set your screen to turn off sooner when idle.
- Settings > Display > Screen timeout
Turn Off Always-On Display: AOD is useful but uses power constantly. Disable it or limit when it shows.
- Settings > Lock Screen > Always On Display
Adjust Refresh Rate and Resolution: Lowering from 120Hz to 60Hz and reducing screen resolution can save battery.
- Settings > Display > Motion smoothness / Screen resolution
2. Manage Background Apps and Activity
Put Apps to Sleep: Stop apps from using battery when not in use.
- Settings > Battery > Background usage limits
Remove Unused Apps: Uninstall apps you don’t use to reduce background processes.
- Long-press app icon > Uninstall or go to Settings > Apps
Limit Background Activity for Certain Apps: Prevent unnecessary apps from refreshing in the background.
- Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Battery
Disable Auto-Sync for Accounts: Sync only essential accounts manually or less frequently.
- Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts
3. Control Connectivity Features
Turn Off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS When Not Needed: These features keep scanning even when idle, using power unnecessarily.
Use Wi-Fi Instead of Mobile Data: Wi-Fi usually uses less battery than mobile networks.
Disable Nearby Device Scanning: Constantly searching for nearby devices can drain battery.
Settings > Connections > More connection settings
Turn Off 5G When Not Necessary: 5G uses more power, especially with weak signals.
- Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode
Use Power Saving Features
Activate Power Saving Mode: Reduce performance and background activity to extend battery life.
- Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Power saving
Enable Adaptive Power Saving: Your phone will automatically manage power use based on your habits.
