OpenAI still in the process of training GPT-5 Reportedly, OpenAI‘s GPT-5 is still undergoing training, and subsequent to this phase, the model will undergo internal safety testing. Following that, the model will be subjected to a process known as “red teaming,” where employees and select outsiders will challenge the tool in various scenarios to identify potential issues before its public release.

The report also highlighted that there is no specific timeline for completing safety testing, and information regarding the release date for the new model is not yet available. OpenAI primarily generates revenue from selling its AI models to enterprise clients.

In March last year, OpenAI introduced GPT-4, enhancing its capabilities, and later introduced GPT 4-Turbo in November. This updated model is purportedly more proficient and possesses knowledge of global events up to April 2023. It also addressed issues related to “laziness,” a term used when the model occasionally declines to respond to prompts.

“It’s really good, like materially better,” commented one CEO who had seen a version of GPT-5. OpenAI showcased the new model with specific use cases and data tailored to his company, the CEO mentioned, adding that there were also some undisclosed capabilities of the model, including its ability to summon AI agents being developed by OpenAI to execute tasks autonomously.
