Qualcomm has announced a mid-range smartphone chipset called Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. It is still an octa-core processor based on TSMC’s 4nm process, but has a slightly different CPU structure than its previous version. The setup is led by a prime core with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz. - CPU Structure: Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 has one prime core with a frequency of 2.3 GHz, three performance cores at 2.2 GHz, and four efficiency cores running at 1.8 GHz. These are ARM CPU cores with Kryo branding.
- GPU: It comes with an Adreno GPU with some Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like Snapdragon Super Resolution 4K upscaling, Adreno HDR for improved dynamic range, and Adreno Frame Rate Engine for improved frame rates.
- Memory: The chip has up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM with a 3,200 MHz frequency and UFS 3.1 storage.
- AI: Hexagon NPU (Neural Processing Engine) with Int4 precision.
