Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Samsung’s next flagship phone may arrive a little later than many fans are used to, marking a small but noticeable change to the company’s usual launch rhythm. While Samsung has leaned toward earlier reveals in recent years, fresh rumours suggest it is taking extra time to polish its upcoming top-tier device. If these reports hold true, users may need to stick with their current phones just a bit longer.

Earlier expectations pointed to a familiar January unveiling once questions around the Galaxy S26 Edge and its impact on the lineup had been resolved. However, a new leak now claims Samsung is shifting gears, with a February announcement and a retail launch planned for March.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Conflicting Reports on the Galaxy S26 Arrival:
Well-known leaker Ice Universe, who has built a reputation for accuracy, shared on X that Samsung will host a Galaxy Unpacked event in February to introduce the Galaxy S26 series. According to the tipster, the phones would then go on sale in March. This lines up with Ice Universe’s earlier suggestion that the launch had been ‘postponed’, reinforcing the idea of a revised timeline.
That said, not everyone agrees. Back in November, South Korean outlet ChosunBiz quoted a company insider who said Samsung was still aiming for a late January reveal, with the Galaxy S26 lineup launching in February, similar to how the Galaxy S25 series rolled out.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Pinpointing the Samsung Galaxy S26 Launch Window:
Concrete details remain scarce, but speculation around the Galaxy S26 continues to grow. Samsung also has a long history of February flagship launches, including the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22. Even earlier models like the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S10 followed the same pattern, with February announcements and March store availability.
Since Samsung typically releases its flagship phones around two weeks after unveiling them, a late-February Unpacked event followed by a March launch seems realistic if Ice Universe’s information is correct.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Understanding the Factors Behind the Rumoured Galaxy S26 Delay:
What appears to be a delay may simply be a return to form. February launches have been common for Samsung over the years, as noted by Forbes. Some sources also suggest that the reported cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Edge, which was expected to replace the Plus model, may have played a role in reshuffling the schedule.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Design Leaks and the Uncertain Future of the Galaxy S26 Edge:
Leaked CAD renders shared by Android Headlines and OnLeaks in November offered a glimpse of the Galaxy S26 Plus. The design shows a 7.35mm thickness, nearly identical to the 7.3mm Galaxy S25 Plus, but noticeably thicker than the ultra-slim 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge.
For now, it is unclear whether the Edge name is gone for good or if Samsung plans to revive it later, possibly with a Galaxy S26 Edge featuring new battery technology in May 2026.
