Motorola has officially stepped into the ultra-premium smartphone space with the launch of its new ultra-slim device, the Motorola Signature, unveiled today at CES 2026 on January 6. Rumors about a new “Signature Series” had been circulating earlier this month, and this announcement confirms Motorola’s plans to offer high-end materials, a sleek design, and long-term software support in a single device.
A sleek and lightweight design
The Motorola Signature is impressively thin at just 6.99mm and weighs only 186 grams, making it one of the slimmest premium phones around. It features an aircraft-grade aluminum frame and a distinctive rear panel with either a twill-inspired or linen-inspired finish, giving it a refined and modern look.
On the front, the phone sports a large 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display. It can reach up to 6,200 nits of brightness and supports an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for everything from everyday scrolling to gaming and video playback.

Built to last without adding bulk
To protect its slim design, Motorola has used Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Despite its thin profile, the phone doesn’t cut corners on durability. It carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, similar to Motorola’s Edge series, offering strong protection against dust and water.
Big battery power in a thin phone
Even with its ultra-thin build, Motorola has managed to pack in a large 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery. The phone supports 90W TurboPower wired charging, which is said to deliver enough power for a full day in just 7 minutes, helping users stay charged with minimal downtime.
Top-tier performance and long-term software support
Powering the Motorola Signature is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. According to Motorola, this chip ensures smooth daily performance, enhances gaming, and enables new Moto AI features. The company is also making a major shift in software support. The Signature ships with Android 16 and comes with a promise of seven years of operating system and security updates, putting it on the same level as Google’s Pixel and Samsung’s Galaxy S series.
A powerful and intelligent camera system
The Motorola Signature features a triple rear camera setup, all using 50MP sensors. The main camera uses a Sony LYTIA 828 sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. It’s joined by an ultrawide camera that doubles as a macro lens, as well as a Sony LYTIA 600 telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera designed to deliver sharper, more detailed self-portraits.
“Moto AI is infused within each camera sensor, ensuring high-quality resolution, vivid colors, and reduced noise,” the company’s press release added.
Immersive sound and premium finishing touches
For audio, the Motorola Signature includes dual stereo speakers powered by “Sound by Bose” technology and supports Dolby Atmos, creating a more immersive listening experience for music, movies, and games.
The phone will be available in two color options, Pantone Martini Olive and Pantone Carbon. It’s priced at €999, which is roughly $1,170. Motorola plans to launch the Signature in select European markets first, with rollouts in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific regions expected over the coming months.
