Although the Google Pixel 10a has already been announced and is currently available for pre-order, consumer reaction to this new mid-range device from Google has been somewhat mixed or average at best.
Upon initial inspection, some consumers found that the Google Pixel 10a looks almost identical to its predecessor: the Google Pixel 9a.
So, if you also think so, and are looking for a phone with stock Android, great camera capabilities, and other exclusive AI features, same as Google Pixel 10a.
Here are five different smartphones that you should consider instead of the Google Pixel 10a
1. Google Pixel 9a
Ironically, the strongest alternative to the Pixel 10a might be Google’s own Pixel 9a.
When a new model launches, you usually expect noticeable upgrades. But the Pixel 10a brings only small changes compared to its predecessor. The design is nearly identical, and both phones share the same Tensor G4 processor, camera setup, and 5,100mAh battery.
The Pixel 10a does add slightly brighter display brightness, upgraded Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and marginally faster wired charging. But those tweaks are fairly minor in everyday use.
Where the Pixel 9a really shines is in pricing. Since it’s now an older model, you can often find it discounted to around $399, making it a significantly better value while offering almost the same experience.
If saving money matters more than having the latest model, the Pixel 9a remains a very smart choice.
2. OnePlus 15R
If hardware performance is your top priority, the OnePlus 15R is easily one of the most powerful phones in this price range.
It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, delivering performance that is close to flagship-level. That alone gives it a major advantage over many mid-range phones.
The phone also packs impressive specifications, including 12GB RAM, Up to 512GB storage, a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display, 165Hz refresh rate, a massive 7,400mAh battery and 80W fast charging
The Pixel 10a still wins when it comes to AI features and Google-exclusive tools. But if you care more about raw performance, gaming, and battery life, the OnePlus 15R offers a much stronger hardware package.
3. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE
Another solid alternative is the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, which continues to be one of the most balanced mid-range phones from Samsung.
Although it originally launched at a higher price, discounts have brought it down to around $450, making it very competitive against the Pixel 10a.
Some of its key highlights include 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, 4,900mAh battery and 45W fast charging
One feature the Galaxy S25 FE offers that the Pixel 10a does not is a 3x telephoto camera. This allows you to capture sharper zoom photos without relying entirely on digital zoom.
If you prefer Samsung’s One UI experience and want a phone with more camera flexibility, the S25 FE is definitely worth considering.
4. Moto Razr+ (2024)
If you want something completely different from a traditional smartphone design, the Moto Razr+ (2024) stands out immediately.
Unlike the Google Pixel 10a’s standard slab design, this device offers a flip-style foldable form factor. When closed, it features a large 4-inch cover display that lets you interact with apps, notifications, and widgets without opening the phone.
5. Nothing Phone 3a Pro
For those who feel the Pixel design is somewhat vanilla, the Nothing Phone 3A Pro has something much more original to offer than any bland design can provide.
The Phone fully embraces Nothing’s signature transparently inspired design that features Glyph LED lights on its back to display notifications, charging indicators, etc.
Besides just being beautiful, this phone also packs a powerful hardware package, including a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a main camera that features a resolution of 50MP, a telephoto camera that features a resolution of 50MP and a 3x optical zoom, and fast-charging technology that supports speeds of 50W.
On the software side of things, Nothing OS offers an uncluttered and virtually pure form of Android, very much like what Google Pixel users appreciate.
Another thing to note regarding the Nothing Phone 3A Pro is the number of software updates it will receive. The phone launched with Android 15 pre-installed and has already received an upgrade to Android 16, and two additional upgrades will be provided to users in the future.
