Elden Ring Nightreign Duo Mode: Two Players Can Now Play Together
FromSoftware has officially announced something fans of the Souls series have been waiting for. Elden Ring Nightreign is getting a new duo mode that will let two players enjoy the co-op experience together. This update is perfect for those who are bored of playing alone or do not want to join random teams and would rather play with a friend.

According to ELDEN RING official X post Elden Ring Nightreign duo mode will launch on July 30, 2025 as part of Patch 1.02. There will be some downtime during this update and the final patch notes will be shared after the downtime ends. Players waiting for this mode should keep their system ready for the update.
Duo Expeditions Will Make the Game More Fun
In this new mode, players will get the option to play duo expeditions instead of only solo or trio. This is great for people who prefer team coordination and trust but find it hard to form a full team of three.
More Options to Filter Relics
Additionally, patch 1.02 will include quality-of-life UI improvements, including more Relics filtering options.

Patch 1.02 will also come with several quality of life improvements. Players will get more options to filter Relics which will help them manage inventory better. Also, the game will now have four more powerful Nightlords that will make the gameplay more challenging.
Sales Have Crossed 5 Million Units
When Nightreign launched, many people thought it was just a multiplayer version of old content and would not last long. But sales numbers have proven all that wrong. The game sold 2 million units in just 24 hours and has now crossed 5 million units worldwide.
Another interesting point is that in June 2025, the game even outsold Mario Kart World. And this was a game that launched at only 40 dollars while most premium games these days cost 70 dollars or more.
