The all-new Apple iPhone 16 series was recently launched during Apple’s Glowtime Event 2024. In the iPhone 16 series, Apple has introduced the feature of Apple Intelligence (AI), along with several other major updates.
However, the fans were shocked by the fact that Apple had announced the discontinuation of three iPhone models.
Apple axes THREE popular iPhone models
Yes, you read that right. Besides launching the new iPhone 16 series during Apple’s Glowtime Event 2024, Apple also announced its decision to discontinue a few of its previous phones – iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 13.
While these models will no longer be sold at the official stores of Apple, but the sales of these models will continue until stock runs out on the e-commerce websites and retail shops.
It has to be noted that in 2023 Apple also stopped selling the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and iPhone 13 Plus after the launch of the iPhone 15 series. Furthermore, with the launch of iPhone 14, the sale of iPhone 13 Pro and Mini models has also been stopped, and only the base models were available, which has now also been discontinued by the company.
On Monday, the company also announced that they are dropping the prices at its Glowtime event, so the cost associated with other models including SE 3, 14, 14 Plus, 15, and 15 Plus have also been reduced by $100.
Apple Has Reduced The Prices Of Previous iPhone Models
After the launch of the iPhone series, Apple also decided to reduce the prices of previous iPhone models as well.
After launching the new iPhone series, Apple has lowered prices for older models. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 series have been discounted by up to $130.
Here are the updated prices for each model:
- iPhone 15: now $920 (down from $1,050)
- iPhone 15 Plus: now $1,050 (down from $1,180)
- iPhone 14: now $790 (down from $920)
- iPhone 14 Plus: now $920 (down from $1,050)

Meanwhile, talking about the newly-launched series, Apple has released four new iPhone 16 models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Prices of these models range from $799 to $1,199. The Apple iPhone 16 series offers exciting new features like:
