Infinix’s Tri-Fold Smartphone Concept Could Set a New Trend for Samsung, Apple and Huawei
Infinix’s innovative ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold smartphone introduces a compact, dual-fold design, potentially challenging Samsung, Apple, and Huawei in the foldable market.

Infinix has just introduced an exciting new concept for a tri-fold smartphone and it’s creating waves in the mobile world. This new Infinix ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold is a compact and versatile phone that folds not once but twice, offering a new look of foldable designs.
Unlike other tri-fold phones, which try to transform smartphones into tablet-like devices, Infinix’s design prioritises a smaller, more compact design factor. It begins as a standard-sized flagship phone and folds into a palm-sized device that claims to be lightweight and simple to operate with one hand.
The design is elegant, with a slim body, metal back and a dual camera system. The front look features an edge-to-edge display that folds like a box. When folded, the cameras are on one side and the display on the other, preserving screen space.

One of the most attractive features of this approach is its compactness. It provides a folding experience comparable to Samsung’s Z Flip series but folds much smaller. In one promotional image, Infinix displays the phone placed on a bike handlebar, with different areas of the display showing camera views, navigation and other riding information. Because of its versatility, it can function as an all-in-one digital tool for a variety of activities, rather than just a smartphone.
Infinix describes the device as “intuitive” and built for single-handed use, blurring the lines between a smartphone and a multipurpose gadget.
A New Perspective on Foldable Phones

The introduction of the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold changes the way we think about foldable smartphones. While many brands like Huawei and Samsung have been focused on turning phones into larger devices, Infinix’s concept suggests a shift towards making phones smaller and more versatile. The design gives users the benefits of both a flagship smartphone and a compact and highly portable device that can even resemble a GoPro for outdoor adventures.
There are, of course, some unanswered questions. Can Infinix really deliver such a thin and durable design? Will the screen be able to withstand everyday wear and tear, especially with the folded section exposed? Additionally, without space for periscope cameras, how will it handle zoom capabilities?
Despite these concerns, the ZERO Series Mini Tri-Fold holds promise. Infinix’s previous Zero Flip model, with its 6.9-inch display and 50MP cameras, suggests that this new tri-fold design could be just as impressive.
If Infinix can successfully bring this concept to market, we may see other major brands like Samsung, Huawei and even Apple, racing to adopt similar designs. It could be the next big thing in smartphone innovation and we’ll be watching closely to see what happens next.
