Oppo Find N5 Tipped To Be World’s Thinnest Foldable Phone

The upcoming Oppo Find N5 is said to pack a 6,000mAh battery and support 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.

Oppo Find N5 is expected to launch in February as a successor to the Oppo Find N3, which was introduced in October 2023. 

Senior Oppo executives have teased important details about the upcoming Oppo handset. The company’s Chief Product Officer Pete Lau claimed that Oppo Find N5 will launch as the world’s “thinnest foldable phone.” When unfolded, it is said to be thinner than Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro models. When folded, it is tipped to have a dimension of 9.2mm.

Oppo’s Find series product manager Zhou Yibao, claimed the Find N5 will be barely thicker than a USB-C port. When unfolded, the model is as thick as two CNY1 coins or four credit cards stacked on top of one another, which roughly translates to 3.7mm.

If true, Oppo Find N5 will be the second foldable phone after the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate triple folding phone whose thickness will be less than 4mm.

The phone has now reportedly been spotted on a Chinese certification site.The listing suggests that the Oppo Find N5 will feature a 11VDC 7.3A charger, meaning the handset will likely have support for up to 80W wired fast charging. This would be an upgrade over the 67W fast charging supported by Oppo Find N3.

Oppo Find N5: Expected Features

While nothing is official as yet, the Oppo Find N5 is said to have a titanium body and is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset- the Snapdragon 8 Elite. 

The upcoming Oppo Find N5 is said to pack a 6,000mAh battery and support 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.

For optics, the phone is rumoured to have a Hasselblad triple camera unit in the rear that consists of a 50MP primary sensor in addition to a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide shooter. 

Find N5 is said to run on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box.

Official teasers confirmed that the smartphone will be equipped with a Type-C USB port and it meets the IPX9 rating for water resistance, capable of withstanding high-pressure jets of water and even submersion in water. 

Oppo Find N5 has been tipped to enter global markets as the OnePlus Open 2, as its predecessor was rebranded in the international market as the OnePlus Open.
