iPhone 17 Air Leak: Apple’s Slimmest iPhone Could Launch Soon
Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17 series in September 2025. Many details have already come out. A new model named iPhone 17 Air is getting a lot of attention. This phone is expected to be the slimmest iPhone Apple has ever made. This new model might take the place of the old Plus variant.
Recently, well-known leaker Majin Bu shared some photos of the iPhone 17 Air. These photos are said to be of a dummy unit. The design looks very thin and light. These pictures match some earlier leaked renders. The phone seems to have a matte back and only one rear camera. This camera is placed in a style similar to the Google Nexus 6P.
Apple has tried to make the phone as slim as possible. So, it doesn’t have extra cameras like ultrawide or telephoto lenses. The focus is clearly on keeping the phone light and thin. The design looks similar to the iPhone 16 series. It has volume buttons and an Action Button on the left side, and a new Camera Control button on the right side.

Leaks say that the iPhone 17 Air could be only 5.5mm thick. The dummy unit leaked by Majin Bu shows a thickness of 5.44mm, which is even slimmer than Apple’s M4 iPad Pro (5.1mm). This means it might become the slimmest iPhone ever.

The regular iPhone 17 will have a design like the iPhone 16 but with a stronger and better screen coating. All models will have a 120Hz ProMotion display with Always-On Display support.
The iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch screen, putting it between the Pro and Pro Max in size. It will come with Apple’s A19 chip and 8GB RAM, just like the regular iPhone 17. The Pro and Pro Max models will have the more powerful A19 Pro chip and 12GB RAM.
Cameras and Performance
The iPhone 17 and 17 Air will have a single 48MP rear camera and an upgraded 24MP front camera. The Pro and Pro Max models will feature three 48MP cameras: main, ultrawide, and telephoto. These Pro models might offer up to 7x lossless digital zoom using new technology.

Apple might launch the iPhone 17 series between 11 to 13 September 2025. Due to rising trade issues in the US, prices might go up this year.
